    If you say so.

What's your issue with masks, anyway? I mean, I understand, I have a similar issue with wearing pants. And people are very intolerant of my choice, too.

I think the pandemic actually played a big part in the protests. Millions of unemployed people and people stuck at home. The "class" gap getting wider, many people looking at their situations feeling hopeless. It's why the protests and riots are way beyond just BLM and race issues, you have a bunch of groups out there pulling in different directions. The US wasn't prepared for anything that caused even the smallest tilt in the balances.

Thank you my friend....my heart is not good...I'm having cardio ablation...they are going to cauterize nerves in my heart chamber so my afib will stop reoccurring...basically put a ballon in the heart chamber....it's a 5 hour operation. if it works I'll be off some meds that I'm really tired of needing twice a day that make me feel like shit

By your posts I'd say you've answered this for yourself....I don't think any precaution is bullshit this early in the pandemic

I said I'd wear a mask in places it's required too, so I guess my issue is the same as everyone else's. I don't want to wear one, so I don't go to places where it's required to do so. The couple times I've been in places it's required I've worn one. So what's the real issue? I'm only saying for people who really, really don't want to wear one it's easy enough to just stay in private areas and super small groups. I don't need to go to grocery stores, or restaurants, or really any place that there are other people and I'm not going to wear one at home, and at work, my office is basically quarantined and sanitized 3 times a day. Never said people shouldn't wear masks in public either.

Not accusing you of being an outlaw. Just wondering why you 'really, really don't want to wear one'. That isn't actually true of everyone, some people don't mind wearing them, or find them only a minor inconvenience.

When the wife and I go camping we don't wear mask unless we go into town to the store. I was at a full state park last week, and saw maybe one person with a mask on walking along a pathway.,

These protests were ENCOURAGED FB_IMG_1593451674315.jpg by democratic leaders.

The thing is river. I never said people shouldn't wear masks in public did I? I never said I wouldn't wear a mask where it's required did I? No, you're on something about no tolerance for people who won't wear one, well I said explicitly that I WOULD WEAR one where it's required and if they changed the requirements I'd do it. I am simply saying that I don't want to wear one so I've avoided being in public and going out and that if people feel strongly about not wearing a mask they can make the choice to stay inside. How is that hard to understand? Isn't that precisely what YOU would want from people who say I don't want to wear a mask for them to stay inside ya know quarantining themselves for the most part? Instead, you're off talking like I'm saying we should all be out and about with no masks on when I'm not saying that all.

America is under Republican leadership currently.....and if you have a problem with the BLM movement....you're on the wrong side of history and using a real public issue as a political talking point...very republican of you

Id say one stance would be having an issue with the mask, because it may be prolonging the inevitable and maybe it would be best in the long run to just let it run its course and let the planet achieve herd immunity.

There is no evidence that wearing masks will stop the spread... just prolong it... as reopening evidence has shown closing things didnt do anything but prolong the spikes.

So wear a mask and a year from now we may get herd immunity, or dont wear masks and reach it in six months.

so I guess the X factor is whats worse?

Having over capacitated ICU wards for 6 months,

or having most small businesses fold causing poverty and poor health related deaths?

I wear mine in every store I enter, But I still see many people without. Unless its 100% it really doesn't matter anyhow right? So if we arnt going to get everyone to comply, all we are doing is postponing the inevitable.

Looks to me like closing things didn't do much in the deaths category. I would have thought there would be a decline in May as a result of social distancing and leveling of the positives?

I'm all about trying to plan for all outcomes, but at a point, if we stop life to plan for something that may not be accurate, we just wasted our lives......

I'm expressing my views...not comparing them to yours...you do you but I didn't say you were a S2 grandstander for those views and I think way too many americans are putting personal comfort before public safety....don't wear a mask.....I probably have less public encounter than anyone here....I live in the woods far from heavy population centers...I wore a mask everyday for 8 months in Taipei during the SARS outbreak and didn't question the rule ever....they've been wearing masks there for 17 years now....they also did an amazing job curbing this pandemic..we are not doing a good job here period

I find that it makes me really anxious and claustrophobic feeling. I'll still wear one when I'm in places that require it but I've just chosen to avoid putting myself in that situation. Which is really all I'm saying if people don't want to wear one they have options you know, like just not being in places they need to wear one. My wife wears one when she goes out, I've got no problem with people wearing masks or requirements to wear masks.
