she's a fucking nutjob....and she was the centerpiece of a massive right-wing wave of Covid bullshit yesterday:

    * " President Donald Trump and his son, Donald Trump Jr., on Monday retweeted a viral video that was yanked by Facebook for pushing “false information about cures and treatments for COVID-19.”

YouTube and Twitter also pulled the video.
    " *

    upload_2020-7-28_8-50-59.png

    *********************************************************************

about this supposed doctor who is the poster-child for the pro-HCL propaganda campaign:

    * " The clip, which was originally posted by the right-wing news site Breitbart, featured four people who identified themselves as doctors speaking in front of the Supreme Court building. One was Stella Immanuel, who claims to be a physician in Houston, and said hydroxychloroquine, a malaria drug often touted by Trump, was a cure for COVID-19.

A number of scientific studies have determined that the drug was not only ineffective against the novel coronavirus but that it could cause fatal heart arrhythmia. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, at this time, there is no drug or therapy presently approved by the Food and Drug Administration to prevent or treat COVID-19.

Immanuel also said that people do not need to wear face masks and attacked “fake doctors” who “sound like a computer
    .” *

    about Immanuel:

    * " Immanuel has an unusual background for a self-proclaimed COVID-19 expert. Information about her medical background is limited; however, she does serve as the head of Fire Power Ministries, which appears to be located in a Houston strip mall and promotes a baptism of fire program that offers “miracles, healings and deliverance.”

On Monday night, Immanuel threatened Facebook with God’s wrath.

“If my page is not back up face book will be down in Jesus name,” she tweeted
    ." *

    upload_2020-7-28_8-58-44.png

    *****************************************************************

    * Trump retweeted more than a dozen posts on Monday evening that plugged hydroxychloroquine, Mediaite reported. His personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, also posted inaccurate information about the coronavirus" *

    upload_2020-7-28_9-7-0.png
    upload_2020-7-28_9-8-0.png
    *****************************************************************

    * " In addition, Trump retweeted a post that quotes a Dr. Lee Vliet who claims infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci “misled the American public.”

The original tweet was posted by “War Room: Pandemic,” a radio show and podcast hosted by Trump’s former White House strategist Steve Bannon
    ." *

    ********************************************************************

this is a textbook example of a mis-information/propaganda campaign. And the reasons are as obvious as the goal is. Fucking trump has been a gawddam disaster in just about every direction, but his Covid decisions and the asinine policies he has advocated have been the main reason we have a pandemic disaster of this magnitude in this country. Everybody with half a brain knows this with a certainty. So trump is trying to make sure that those with less than half a brain (and there are millions of those dumbass sheeple running around bleating non-original nonsense) blame anybody but trump for this mess.

if you just take the time to look at this 'new' propaganda campaign about HCL in it's relevant context; then think about how damaging bad information can be right now, knowing that people in the white house don't give a shit about the damage mis-information can cause, you should get angry. But then, if you take that and combine it with everything else that's happening and has happened in the 42 months of the trump era...well then you should either be enraged or applying for citizenship to another country....

    ....or drunk

    https://abcnews.go.com/Health/coron...-red-dawn-team-save-america/story?id=72000727

this is a dive into the "red dawn" email group's activities and conclusions from early in the detection of the scale of the outbreak in china through it getting a foothold here in the USA and suggested mitigation actions that they proposed that would have lead to the likely-hood of far fewer infections at the outset of its arrival. correspondence with the administration through the cdc and with questioning dr.fauci's original response recommendations are included in the interviews of 6 0f the members in the group.
long but worth it IMHO to see what might have been in hindsight if different priorities were used in the response decisions.
    how prepared were we?
click on the podcast blurb at the bottom for some of the bullet points in the article to see if it picks your curiosity.

Trump’s New Favorite COVID Doctor Believes in Alien DNA, Demon Sperm, and Hydroxychloroquine
A Houston doctor who praises hydroxychloroquine and says that face masks aren’t necessary to stop transmission of the highly contagious coronavirus has become a star on the right-wing internet, garnering tens of millions of views on Facebook on Monday alone. Donald Trump Jr. declared the video of Stella Immanuel a “must watch,” while Donald Trump himself retweeted the video.

Before Trump and his supporters embrace Immanuel’s medical expertise, though, they should consider other medical claims Immanuel has made—including those about alien DNA and the physical effects of having sex with witches and demons in your dreams.
Immanuel, a pediatrician and a religious minister, has a history of making bizarre claims about medical topics and other issues. She has often claimed that gynecological problems like cysts and endometriosis are in fact caused by people having sex in their dreams with demons and witches.

She alleges alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, and that scientists are cooking up a vaccine to prevent people from being religious. And, despite appearing in Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress on Monday, she has said that the government is run in part not by humans but by “reptilians” and other aliens.

Immanuel gave her viral speech on the steps of the Supreme Court at the “White Coat Summit,” a gathering of a handful of doctors who call themselves America’s Frontline Doctors and dispute the medical consensus on the novel coronavirus. The event was organized by the right-wing group Tea Party Patriots, which is backed by wealthy Republican donors.

In her speech, Immanuel alleges that she has successfully treated hundreds of patients with hydroxychloroquine, a controversial treatment Trump has promoted and says he has taken himself. Studies have failed to find proof that the drug has any benefit in treating COVID-19, and the Food and Drug Administration in June revoked its emergency authorization to use it to treat the deadly virus, saying it hadn’t demonstrated any effect on patients’ mortality prospects.

“Nobody needs to get sick,” Immanuel said. “This virus has a cure.”

Immanuel said in her speech that the supposed potency of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment means that protective face masks aren’t necessary, claiming that she and her staff had avoided contracting COVID-19 despite wearing medical masks instead of the more secure N95 masks.

“Hello, you don’t need a mask. There is a cure,” Immanuel said. https://www.thedailybeast.com/stell...-alien-dna-demon-sperm-and-hydroxychloroquine
