No. My parents are isolating with my brother in Seattle. I didn't want them to visit due to COVID safety.

    They've met several times.

    Current reported COVID-19 Cases:

US - 5.3mil (Predominantly privately owned hospitals. I've been told that each hospital receives roughly $30k from the government per COVID-19 case reported.)
Brazil - 3.1mil (Predominantly privately owned hospitals)
India - 2.4mil (Predominantly privately owned hospitals)

    Conversely:

Canada - 120k (Predominantly government owned hospitals)
Mexico - 500k (Predominantly government owned hospitals)

I was recently told that the way many of the US hospitals are reporting the virus is rather suspect considering the payouts going on. In many cases, multiple reports of COVID for the same person coming in to be checked.

Also, according to the CDC (and related to me), through the end of July, 2020, the average number of total deaths per day in the US was 7.434. In 2017, there were an average of more than 7,700 deaths per day in the US.

Well, as to the COVID reports (and subsequent payouts), that was told to me by someone here in Branson whose brother-in-law is one of the top hearts surgeons in the country. Sorry, no link there.

As to the average daily death rate comparisons, that was related to me in a text by my niece. She didn't supply a link. However, I did find this on a quick search, FWIW..

    https://www.law.com/texaslawyer/202...verage-cdc-412-96700/?slreturn=20200712145210

The new weekly COVID-19 report shows that the percentage of all U.S. deaths caused by pneumonia and influenza spiked to epidemic levels in the week ending March 28 — the last week in the pneumonia and influenza chart.

But, even at the end of March, the percentage of all deaths recorded as being caused by pneumonia or influenza was still below the level recorded in late 2017.

Heh. Well, OK, the jury is still out:

    https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-death-count-stable-idUSKBN22Q2MT

That said, the heart-surgeon doctor related that he's been under a LOT of pressure to label something COVID-19, when, indeed it is not. As an example, an 80-something man died of "heart failure" on his table, yet the hospital demanded that the man get tested for COVID after the fact. He had one strain of the COVID, but the surgeon said that was "absolutely" not what killed the man. Nonetheless, he was instructed to count it as such.

The doctor was the one who was making the COVID-19 cases comparisons/correlations between the majority privately-owned US, Brazil, and India hospitals vs. the government-run Canada and Mexico hospitals. I found it to be interesting information.

Maybe this "top heart surgeon" should learn why and how contact tracing works.

Hard to say, but the reporting disparities can't be denied.
