With both of mine I got all amp up afterwards, like I had snorted amphetamines or something.

Didn't wear a mask a gym today. I think there were only a couple of us old farts that didn't.
I could have flashed a 3x5 card at a distance and it would have passed.

I’m reading that Oregon businesses will be required to make the unvaccinated wear a mask? The catch seems to be that OSHA is putting liability for any vaccine-related side effects on the employer in regards to the employee. I see a conflict here. That’s a lot of liability for businesses to take on, they may think twice now about enforcing that guideline, regardless of their opinion on vaccination.

    My gym still requires masks.

Fox is, unsurprisingly, telling unvaccinated people to take off masks.

Saw a news report that dogs are being trained as Covid testers. Apparently they can tell the difference in scent of those infected. So at next Blazers S2 get-together @SlyPokerDog can be official Covid tester.

I went shopping yesterday and everyone had face shields or masks except for 3 loud road crew workers in the orange vests who were maskless....most people in Lane County seem to be rather safe than sorry when it comes to masking....I'm not going to stop wearing one indoors in public until there are zero new cases and children are out of danger.....Taiwan just had a disaster from one asshole businessman who brought it into the country and spread it to four counties from 2 restaurants parties...a karaloke...two company meetings and visiting several bars....now they're locked down after zero cases and 300 people per day are getting infected in 4 counties...this is from one guy who probably flew in from India with there version and went partying.....they have been without any spread for over a year until this just occured...they just opened up travel and bingo......idiots who think it's all rosy and normal again when it's actually not....and won't be until everyone gets smart about it....it could be gone by fall if we would just use proper safety measures until we see how the kids withstand it in the school, sports , public gatherings and workplace systems.

I would imagine all those talented chefs and sou chefs , prep cooks are transitioning into the catering gig until they can fund another restaurant....foodies are going to cook somewhere regardless the circumstances..even if it means a food cart.

A long list of my favorites here in Portland are also gone. Sam's, I believe from Sacramento, is gone and so is Chevy's also from Cal.

Florida and DeSantis Defy Covid-19 and the Critics
The governor kept the state open, attracting economic activity and emboldening his political ambitions.

And the pandemic winner is … Florida and its governor, Ron DeSantis.

Can anyone doubt it? As the country tries to recover from the pandemic, psychologically as well as economically, Florida is way ahead of just about every other state in the U.S. As of March, its unemployment rate was 4.7%, compared with New York’s 8.5% and California’s 8.3%. The Census Bureau reports that more than 250,000 people moved to Florida last year, second only to Texas. From all indications, the influx has only accelerated in 2021.

The reason, of course, is that in Florida, the pandemic is being treated as ancient history. Are Covid-19 victims still dying in Florida? Yes. But the numbers are relatively low: 45 deaths on Wednesday, for instance. More to the point, throughout the pandemic, DeSantis has insisted on keeping the state open for business even as other states locked down for months at a time. DeSantis was one of the last governors to issue a stay-at-home order, which he did only after weeks of unrelenting criticism, and one of the first to reopen. He required that schools remain open in opposition to the teachers unions. (“Closing schools due to coronavirus is probably the biggest public health blunder in modern American history,” he said.) And he forbade local governments from enforcing mask mandates........
