I belong to LA Fitness. Before the pandemic I went 4 days a week. Since then I haven't been back and don't really want to. I have built a little home gym and still in the process. I find that I can get just as good as workouts at home and I don't have to worry about people leaving puddles of sweat on the benches and machines.

You're supposed to wipe down your machine with a small towel that you carry with you after using said machine. If someone doesn't do that than you either should politely explain this to that user or tell management and they should correct it.

I'm 67 and have been through 4 heart procedures in three years and take heart meds....as high risk as you can be and my heart is better today than it was before I got vaccinated....I haven't had heart rate blood pressure numbers like this since I was an athlete..this morning I was 124 over 80 over 75 ...there are dietary elements to contracting heart problems .....salt and sugar intake, smoking and alcohol consumption...my bet is these young people aren't living the healthiest lifestyles ....on another note....people who've contracted covid are alarmingly having cases of diabetes show up in unusual numbers..just got my labs done today so I'll get some real numbers next week as to my bloodwork. Everyone in my family got the Moderna vax except my daughter in law who got the Johnson and Johnson early so she could get back to work. Of all the people I know including my nurses and doctors, nobody has suffered any ill effects from the vax.

All my monthly blood test numbers were good. I had an A1C of 6.9 which was the highest in the last three months and I'm diabetic. My heart beat is usually in the 60s.
I do have a lot of ailments which include kidney failure, heart murmur, half of my diaphragm is paralyzed, asthma, allergic to some valuable antibiotics like penicillin and allergic to to some pain meds like aspirin, Advil, oxycodone, and some others blind in one eye and deaf in one ear. Dialysis wipes me out to the point that brushing my teeth or showering or using the toilet exhausts me but hopefully a switch to peritoneal dialysis will give me more energy and expand my diet.
Everyone in my dialysis unit, staff and patients has been successfully vaccinated with no ill after effects. Someone in here thinks we're all going to die. I suppose when we get old enough he'll be right.

Hang in there Lanny! I appreciate everyday that I can ...I'm sure that like you, we don't take life for granted....something many vets have in common.

When I see Vets at the VA hospital I generally see, except for Harry Glickman, the very poor who are overweight and have lots of disabilities. It's not unusual to see one with dirty clothes and fingernails, long hair, beard and some that are obviously farmers. A lot of pretty ugly vets. I feel sorry for them.

My vax group of 9 vets for both shots were a funny bunch of guys....all pretty overweight but like me, living on an acreage outside of the towns and cities...several like me spend time fishing whenever they get a chance...I've never seen a dirty unkempt vet at our VA clinic in Eugene..I've probably seen them under the bridges more than likely with grocery carts full of junk..the VA parking lot is like a showcase for big shiny trucks with travel trailer hitches...I've thought about volunteering there a few days a month to help disabled vets get to where they need to go....I have alot of experience with wheelchairs and transfers....I see the volunteers there and they are good folk

Holy crap, you could really help my wife in her mid 70s, with two bad shoulders, weighing all of 120lbs. dripping wet while trying to wrestle my wheel chair in and out of our SUV.
I feel so guilty not being able to help her although I'm a man unable to walk for crying out loud. My poor wife.

    Then make them more clear.
Forums like this are easy places to read things in multiple ways.
I'll bet if I came out there for some fishing and hunting, which I love to do, you'd be a great host. I hope I'm not misinterpreting that.
Elk is the best meat I've ever tasted.
One time when we were driving through Wyoming I tried like hell to get my wife to eat some oysters, Rocky Mountain oysters. She's not nearly as naive as she used to be, dammit. We settled for two steaks which Wyoming is famous for.

Yep, they do drive nice, shiny trucks.
I'm up at the hospital an average of four times a week with four to eight appointments.
I've had a couple of heart procedures. One was to check the flow rate in my valves and another was to get multiple ablations to correct the same kind of arrhythmia that Lamarcus Aldridge had. I still have another type of underlying arrhythmia that is controlled with medication. I've had two different stress tests one chemical and the other meant a treadmill. They've done two CT scans where they included a nuclear contrast on my heart.
This VA hospital is the one that Seattle VA patients use for difficult cardiac problems. My cardiologist left our VA to go to Denver where the VA does their heart transplants.
People that I've run into that have worked at other VA hospitals say the Portland one is the best.

I prefer steak to oysters of ant description.
    Never had elk.
Very healthy except repetitive stress injuries, defective eyesight, severe fragrance/ chemical sensitivity.
    Fully vaccinated.

"Not being a smart ass" means not being snarky and "Confused" means unable to make sense out of reality
My wife tells me these facts all the time.
