My point was that you said you don’t believe in “draconian measures”, but in reality you do. When it’s something you are opposed to. If it were up to me vaccines would be needed in order to do some basic things. Call it draconian, literally don’t care. Want a license? Get the goddamn vax so we can move on. Want to send your kid to school with my 9 year old? Get vaxxed. And so on. I’m tired of all these dipshits who think they are smarter than every developed country’s top medical doctors and scientists.

 

So you would be in favor of basically putting someone in house arrest when they haven't committed any crime? Got it. A defacto social credit violation. How Mao-esque of you. Your line of thought would have been locking up the gays in the 80s AIDS epidemic.


What draconian measures am I in favor about? Cracking the heads of people rioting and burning down buildings? That's nothing bad at all. Things that are illegal and are forms of property crimes or assault, I'm in favor of locking people up for a long ass time for those crimes. Mandatory minimums, 3 strikes and your out...I'm in favor of all that shit. But forcing experimental vaccinations on the general population or restricting their life to living a normal, basic life? Nah. Not good with that.

We're required to wear masks indoors in LA, regardless of vaccination status.

 

You don’t have to vaccinate your kids. But then they can’t come to school. It’s not illegal

You have to use a company issued computer at my company. It’s not illegal to not use one but you can’t work here.

You had to wear masks for the last year. There wasn’t a law that requires it though.

you are making this all about the law. I don’t care. I’m saying that it is widely agreed by scientists and the medical community that we need people to get vaccinated. So that’s what we do. If you don’t do it, ok, it’s not illegal, but then you can’t do X, Y and Z. It’s simple.

 

It’s not a bait and switch. Sounds like something you heard on Fox. Masks are going back on because we haven’t vaxxed enough. People didn’t anticipate Trumpers refusing a vaccine to this extent. So we are going backwards. Good work all.

 

It isn't that simple. You cannot deny someone from living their life (and we're talking about very basic things like going to the store to buy food, freedom of movement, etc) because they chose not to get an experimental vaccine. I see it as a personal choice for people based on their own risk tolerance.

Its not only Trumpers, its blacks and mexicans, who have been the least willing to get the vaccine and who have been disproportionally affected by COVID-19. Maybe you should vent your anger at them.

A bait and switch is when the seller (promise maker) intentionally baits someone to do something knowing they will not fulfill the promise. So you think the govt all along knew or planned on going back to masks? They told people to take them off and all the while planned to have people put them back on. Which makes no logical sense.
