I think there is absolutely zero chance Houston gets Howard; therefor; absolutely zero chance that Portland can get asik

Dwight Howard also wants "to play in the frontcourt WITH Asik"

I'd become a huge fan of Dwightmare if he left the Lakers hangin' without a S&T.

I find that hard to believe. If he said it he was not thinking things through. The two can not co-exist on the court at the same time. I can not think of a worst front court teammate for Dwight.

I take that in the same spirit as "I don't have any problem with Kobe"

they won't have the luxury of keeping Asik with lux tax concerns and filling out the roster

I am wondering if this scenario isn't becoming more possible with all the Howard to Houston chatter. But If I am Houston I would look really hard at doing it. The #10 pick gives them value if Howard doesn't come.

As a Blazer fan I would rather include a different incentive to make the trade work though. My heart is set on drafting a young SG.

FACT: The Pelicans just offered Tyreke Evans up to $50 for 4 years (if incentives are met)
FACT: The Pelicans already have Eric Gordon
FACT: The Pelicans have to unload some salary to afford what they offered Evans.
SUGGESTION: The Rockets could use another shooter to play alongside Howard. Gordon could play with Harden, because Harden does the Roy thing of dominating the ball at key moments (which is why Harden and Lin are a poor fit, because Lin does the same) so Gordon could be SG to Harden's PG, or you could have Harden at SF in a smallball lineup.
SO: we get Asik, Houston gets Gordon, Pelicans get ? (mostly cap space)?

Gordon is a big risk for Houston, but he's also high reward if he works out. Does Morey have the nads?

FACT: Al-Farouq Aminu started 71 games for the Hornets last year.

I would not be surprised if they put Evans at SF. Even out of position, he's way better than anything else they have in that spot. A Holiday/Gordon/Evans perimeter could be pretty formidable.

I just read on Teh Twitters that the Pelicans see Evans as a combo guard and NOT as a SF.

But I also read that they want to keep Gordon but move Vazquez. So I don't know WHAT to believe.
