Yeah, dealing Moore for Petry and his 3 mill cap hit is totally worth it for a slight upgrade when top 9 forward is the much bigger need. No doubt. If the NHL allows us to go over the cap, then I am all for it. But since I doubt that will happen we should focus on the forward we need much more with our limited cap flexibility.
I don't want a player back in return. Makes no sense when you have Allen that can take his spot and Skjei will take it next year for sure. I want the picks. System has to constantly be stocked with the salary cap. You can't have down times with your farm.
Right, and we can act like the Buffalo Sabres dump. It is crazy to trade Moore for picks UNLESS we have another deal done that adds players back. We are not rebuilding, so why would we deal players for picks? Moore is a useful player, playing tomorrow night actually, and a team that is in win now mode deals him for picks? Makes ZERO sense.
Moore just needs to step up and stop playing scared. He's got a good amount of ability i don't know why he's flatlined.
To Chuck.......the Rangers may not be rebuilding, but I feel they are building depth by incorporating youth onto this roster. Players like St.Louis, Zuccarello and D Moore are leading the way to help the young players. It is the way to the future.
