<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">Magic did not beat the Spurs, where you get this from? But you missed the whole point of my post. The best teams will lose games or only beat these poor teams every once in a while, this is the NBA not college basketball. You can't expect to be on your game for every game in a very long season.</div> huh? I meant we almost won...I didn't get the meaning of this post though lol but all I'm saying is I don't think the Spurs will win the NBA Finals again. Lakers 4 and Kings? not to mention the Wolves' big 3. Hopefully they go to the Finals to get owned by the Nets.
I think, speaking about the teams that are better than the Spurs in the West, that there are three. The TWolves, Lakers, and the Kings. What hurts the Spurs is their inability to find ways to score. Though they do make that up on the defensive end by giving up less than 84 ppg, which, is a league best. But, their big problem is they don't have a super-reliable source for points outside of Duncan. Tony Parker is very inconsistent, Manu is inconsistent, Bowen isn't a scorer, Rasho isn't a large contributor either. So, yea, after Duncan there really isn't much. That's why they have a lot of trouble scoring when Duncan is shut down. If they can't run their offense through him, they can't score. This is why I consider the Lakers, Kings, and Wolves better. They all have multiple sources of offense. Now, so does Dallas, but, the fact that they can't play defense just kills them. And, I also don't like the fact that, overall, that team is weak, by that I mean that they have no real inside prescence, and, no one to really guard the Shaqs or Duncans of the league. All they do is jack up jumpers and if those don't drop, they typically don't win. But, yea, the Lakers, Kings, Wolves, all have multiple sources of offense, so, if you shut down one person, they always have someone else. Whereas, you shut down Duncan, you shut down the Spurs offense. This is why, they're, at best, the 3rd best in the West.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">Spurs had many problems in the first half of the season, like they did last year. They struggled with the top teams early on as well but picked it up in the 2nd half. Beat both Kings and Wolves on the road this past month.</div> All of those teams had trouble at first (except LA), and yet after 4 months the Spurs are still only a game ahead of the Lakers who have lost about 100 man-games to injuries. The Spurs have also managed to lose to both teams at home and remain winless in 6 total tries against the Mavericks and Lakers. So what? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Spurs are deeper than a year ago, or at worse...equal Robert Horry, Charlie Ward, Manu, Malik Rose, Kevin Willis can all produce when needed. It's no different to last years bench. </div> Their bench isn't any worse but their STARTERS are. This makes them less deep overall, doesn't it? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Now just because I feel Spurs are the team to beat because they are the defending champions doesn't mean they will win it all again. Honestly the best team in the NBA is without a doubt the Sacramento Kings.</div> So why did you disagree in the first place? Oh and why is it that you "feel" that the Spurs are "the team to beat" while thinking that the "the best team in the NBA is without a doubt the Sacramento Kings"? If they're the best team, aren't THEY the team to beat?

They have been inconsistant all year. Duncan, Parker, Manu all out for extended periods of time at different stages of the season. Fact is Spurs have been playing very good basketball in the month or so. Most of the meetings against L.A and Dallas were in the first part of the season during injuries to Duncan and Parker. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Their bench isn't any worse but their STARTERS are. I hope that makes some sense to you. Anyway, I think everything thats been said has been said. I'm not going to bother harping on about injuries, Spurs record v the elite teams e.t.c....I have made my points.
