It's official, pending Chandler passing a physical (which he has failed to do previously, of course). http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4361334 Ed O.
I'm hoping for the latter. If Nate really does leave Blake as the starter, imagine the statement that makes for potential free agent and trade candidates (agent pull) down the road... Yeah, come here and play off the bench behind an inferior player! We love our current players too much to bench or trade them!
For now I'm just going to roll with the idea that Nate's being respectful to the guy who started for him for the past two years ... on the other hand I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility to see Miller play 28-30 minutes per game to help preserve his legs for the post-season and Blake get 18 or so; Blake isn't a horrible player, he's just not very dynamic and I think it was pretty clear that 32 minutes a game stretched him well beyond his ability to cope.
That seems most likely, but Przybilla didn't exactly get that same incumbent endorsement last year, did he? The spot was handed to Oden prior to training camp, based on nothing more than expectations. It would be inconsistent, if not hypocritical, to not do the same for Miller. Nothing against Blake ... he's a below average starter and an above average bench player ... clearly not at the same level as Miller.
You might have a point. I guess we're all just going to have to wait and see because there's no answer to this question until training camp ends.
