Okay not going to lie but this is the most enjoyable news I’ve seen regarding the nba this year. Who didn’t See this coming from a million miles away?
Guys I don't know for sure if this means what you think it means. I think this means that for the first time this season Kyrie has entered into league mandated protocols for all players and specifically ones for unvaccinated players regarding testing and for him a certain amount of isolation that it's going to take for him to practice and play with the team. I don't think this points in any way to a positive test by Kyrie. I'm not saying this because I agree with Kyrie, he's an absolute dumbass. I think it's incredibly irresponsible for anyone in any community who can be vaccinated to go unvaccinated but I'm not shocked by the actions of a self serving flat earther like Kyrie Irving... I just don't think these reports point towards Kyrie being infected.
It can mean he's had contact with someone infected and needs to test twice negative or it means he's contracted it....they haven't defined it....KD is going through it too....
They said Kyrie needs to test negative for five consecutive days and I think that's the protocol for someone who is unvaccinated entering into the league's system.
A new angle. The league doesn't shut down. Keeps playing with teams at half strength. Blazers maintain a good healthy roster and we go on a 22 game win streak and win it all this year, due to teams at half strength. This could be a blessing in disguise! 2021-2022 Covid nba champs.. The Portland Trailblazers!!!
I would take it. They’re gonna start testing only symptomatic players sooner rather than later, I think.
it's also a possibility that postponed games will become more common than played games. And that the list of postponed games will become so great that the season will be abbreviated. That would raise the possibility that Portland's poor start to the year would be a bigger proportion of their record and drop their seeding into the play-in I don't see how they can hold the playoffs if players are entering Covid protocols at such a high rate besides that, all it would take is one player or coach on the Blazers to start dumping Blazers into Covid detention
How? The NBA already lost a bunch of money last season on the bubble and how do you get the prep time for it?
the bubble was 2 seasons ago. That's when the initial Covid was spreading, but not as rapidly as the Omicron variant is now. at the rate games are getting postponed, it will quickly get to the point the games can not be made up on the current schedule. That will mean imbalance in team schedules, advantaging some teams and hurting others. Nobody wants that I'd say the NBA will be tempted to modify their protocols. But all it will take is one player actually getting Covid to make the modification look terrible. And from what I'm reading, we are only at the very early stage of the Omicron surge
