    So maybe I'm not understanding the timing, but could this be an Andre Miller kind of situation -- Making him eligible to be traded on draft-day as a psuedo-expiring contract?

    I think its depended on the language of the contract and not a league wide deadline. I don't understand why we would extend it unless Jamall said he was leaning towards opting in, so we decided to give him time to change his mind.

    Yeah me too ... I had no idea the team had any discretion in extending the deadline or not -- especially on a player option.

    Perhaps, I just can't imagine any team would give anything of value back to us. I really don't like the risk of him being stuck on our cap.
