I haven't seen Brand play this year, but I'm skeptical. Sure, he's only 30 but there is a lot of miles on those knees. He missed 74 games & 53 games the last two seasons, and that contract is . . . ewwwwww. If he's healthy and he's at least close to the guy who tormented the league from '99-'07 than I'd consider it. But it doesn't look like that is the case (by the numbers anyway) Way too much money to pay a b/u.
At 5-15, no way they go for that. When you are that bad, those lottery draft picks are what give you hope.
Now that the Sixers are (a) sucking incredibly badly (b) in town I thought it was time to revisit the ol' Brand'n'Iggy trade, given that they probably don't value Iguodala as much any more now. Here's my new suggestion (approved by Trade Machine): Brand and Iguodala for Miller, Przybilla, Outlaw, Webster and Cunningham (local hero) Why they do it: Iggy is >12M for 5 yrs Brand is just under 15M for 4 They fell apart when they got rid of Miller, but he ended up signing pretty cheap, and for only 2 years guaranteed Why we do it: Iggy wouldn't have to be "the man" but last season had league-leading +/- and can really defend on the wing Brand has been seriously misused in Philly, but could be a really solid fill-in big man for us (play C alongside Aldridge for now).
