Man bro... How long does it take for you to come up with shit like this?? 5 team trade? I guess that would be the definition of a crazy trade idea.
So much for that idea. Although he probably still wants out. But yeah, we’re not getting him for Harkless. But with Collins developing, it probably doesn’t matter anyway.
Lol I know right. They would probably put Portis on the block before Mirotic at this point. I’m high on Collins but I think every area he needs to improve in will be accomplished only through playing a shit ton of NBA basketball and I’m not sure how much of that he will get in the short term. Either we improve our play and Stotts probably DNP’s his ass or we continue to be mediocre and give Collins his minutes and speed up his development. I’m honestly not sure what the better scenario would be.
Best thing to do imo would be to let him start at PF. If he plays with better players, the game should be easier and it could fast track his development. It also wouldn’t affect the rotation, all we’d have to do is move Aminu to SF. Pat or Harkless fall out of the rotation, but who really cares about either one of them
I’m leaning towards that scenario as well. Just seems like his development is THAT important to our future. Might as well make that a priority and see what we could be.
My trade deadline favorite: BOS Gets: Ed Davis NYK Gets: Moe Harkless, Shabazz Napier, Jake Layman, 2019 MIN/LAL 2nd POR Gets: 2018 BOS 1st, 2018 NYK 1st, Joakim Noah, Lance Thomas, Courtney Lee (TPE) BOS gets the extra big they need who fits their Injury Exception perfectly and ship out the 28th-30th pick. NYK shaves $25M off their payroll, add their starting PG for the rest of the season (and a big piece going forward, potentially), and swap Lee for Harkless POR gets better, and likely ends up with the same sort of draft pick combination as last year (15-20-28?)
I don't thnk Knicks will be shopping their first round pick unless it's lottery protected or something. Boston won't offer their 1st for Davis. They like their picks a lot. Knowing Ainge he will probably try to trade that pick for Anthony Davis - and he'll be right - remember when people thought it was good idea to trade no. 3 pick which turned into Jaylen Brown for Noel or Okafor? You can have either of them for absolutely nothing now. There's something about Stanley Johnson that I really, really like. I'm not sure how good he's going to turn out to be but we could use a small forward like him.
So many 1st and actual players for crap except for Napier... and a 1st for ed? I know it's a low first damn.
Find a 2nd-year sub already in the NBA, who turns out better than what we give! Like Olshey did with Nurkic, only Whitsitt did it at least once per year.
I've already explained why Ed is the only player that makes sense for BOS and their injury exception and roster. Part of the incentive for NYK is who theyre getting rid of.
I don't think they will offer a 1st round pick to do that, unless they are looking very solid in playoff race in January/February. Then it would be a good idea because getting rid of $17M terrible deal like that for a pick that won't be better than 15-20 range is actually a good idea, especially when you are located in New York and can be a good free agency destination for free agents. They might be able to lure Cousins (playing with Porzingis could be great incentive) or Bradley or even Thomas, probably not George.
If this is actually a real post (can’t tell with you) I think the opposite. Davis is replaceable. I don’t know what he brings that Vonleh doesn’t. We should be focused on developing Vonleh, he’s played too well to be third string, but it’s ok, because I also feel we’re showcasing Davis.
