If the max makes the bridge too low for shipping, could they design a max only bridge with a more gradual incline over a longer span? I'm still jazzed about the idea of a I-105 or I-305 to the west.
Good point. I do like bike lanes and the Max though. I'm in East Portland though, so my priority is getting roads paved.
That seems like a good spot for Oregon. I think by NE 33rd on the Oregon side, off from SR-14 would be a good spot for a road for local traffic.
I don't know why I even bother discussing things with people who can't read, but I said pretty clearly that the bridge's utility would be gone long before its structural integrity was the main problem. There aren't enough lanes to cope with growth projections. I'd love to know where you got that figure (I found this study, but maybe it's wrong? http://www.columbiarivercrossing.org/FileLibrary/Tolling/CRC_TollingStudyCommitteeReport.pdf ) ... and why do you think I'm a Democrat?
I'm ok with OR paying for the bridge, as long as we totally fuck WA residents in the process. Like a $20 toll southbound in the morning and and $20 toll northbound in the evening. Trucking and OR residents exempt. Otherwise, I'm in favor of blowing up all the bridges and using ferries. barfo
