Perhaps Villa over Berbatov, for a bit more money, but I don't see him fitting into the United system well. I don't think he's as skilful as Rooney or Tevez, but isn't a big, strong prototypical centre forward, so I think he'd not really make it into the United team properly. Oh, I forgot that £32m has to go on Tevez, but they seem willing to pay that regardless of other transfers. I don't buy the Henry rumours, I just can't see him having the passion to line up at the Emirates in a United shirt. He is a Gunner through and through, or that's how it looks from the outside, and I can't see him wanting to directly compete with Arsenal. Arshavin could come with the money I set aside for January, but I think that Anderson will be given a chance to perform first, and Arshavin looks as though he'll go now rather than in January.

You are threatened!</div> It will make things more interesting though, all 4 teams (utd, arsenal, liverpool and chelsea) will be kind of on the same level, fighting for the top spot. More fun that way. ^ (don't forget about the spurs either) </div> If United move Ronaldo, I'm not even sure they would be on the level of Chelsea or Liverpool. Yes Liverpool didn't look great standings wise, but they did have a insane number of draws. Won't expect as many with Keane. -Petey
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (chingy0007 @ Jul 31 2008, 11:38 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>To me, Nani looks better now than Ronaldo did in his first season at United, so I think that he could at least step in and do the job. However, with Giggs getting older, there would still be a huge gap on either the left or right. Interestingly, Owen Hargreaves could do a job there as he has looked fantastic when playing wide right, but his best role will always be holding midfielder. I hope that Fergie is still talking to Carlos Quieroz, who appears to have some of the best contacts for finding and purchasing talent within Portugal. I have no doubt that there is a young player (circa 20) in Portugal or Spain that United have their eyes on already, to be honest. There will already be a contingency plan for what to do with the £60 odd million that they would receive from any Ronaldo transfer. As United appear to be willing to spend just under £25m already (possibly Berbatov), that would mean Fergie would have probably £80m to spend. My guess on the breakdown would be: £25m - Berbatov/other striker £30m - replacement winger £25m - young players/backup for January window.</div> I'd like to see United spend on Ribery or Ricardo Quaresma. Perhaps even both with the funds brought in by selling Ronaldo (if he is moved). -Petey
