But we're not grading with school paper numbers. 100% good or 0% bad. It's not an F grade. I'm not saying the whole deadline was good. I'm not thrilled with the Clippers deal at all. However, this whole thing looks like it was a clearly "lets get rid of all of the good players, give ourselves the ability to operate under the luxury tax in the offseason, and suck as much as we possibly can for 1 season to get as high up the draft board as possible (ala Spurs/Duncan. I know I know. There's no Duncan in this draft). Then re-group in the offseason to surround Dame, Simons, and a top 5 pick with much better fits on the roster (via trading mid/late lotto pick and TPE, MLE, BAE). Who knows, maybe Cronin just has no idea what he's doing, is in completely over his head, or is just selling off all of the assets to get Dame to request a trade and put a for sale sign up on the Moda Center lawn. I just have a hard time believing that's the case.
Basically, right out of the box. 'Didn't have player that he and Chauncy thought were winning players.'
'Cap room Trade Exception Mid-Level ....to build a roster the way Chauncey wants to play.....similar to the team we saw last night.' (vs the Lakers)
you mean the dude who was watching his old team play and rooting for them instead of paying attention to us? he literally said he was going to stay in SLC.
Joe Ingles' bird rights are only possible if we retain his caphold for 20 mil. LOL can anyone please call him out?
Chauncey: 'I want competitors. Hart is a competitor. Bledsoe is a competitor. Winslow is picking up LeBron full court....a competitor.'
'We had a bunch of different options on the table. The way the market shaped up, that is the best we ran into.'
'Initially, the sell is on the picks and young players we got. The flexibility is a tougher sell. We tried to make use of that, but it didn't work out, so will go about it again this summer.
