I know this thread isn't intended for factual information, but I'll throw it out there anyway: Press Conference is a 4:30 Media will be able to ask questions, it won't be a Brooke and Neil special Quick already laid out his narrative on the radio, so any "question" he asks will be designed to fit within what he wants to hear.e
Quick said Billups could not hide his disappointment yesterday. That is interesting to hear if Chauncey and Joe are not fully aligned on the vision.
Quick has a narrative to push. I don't disagree with some of points, but just keep that in mind with Quick right now.
These Blazer media guys talk tough behind the scenes, but pull their punches when push comes to shove.
What I hate about new conferences about players, is that it is seldom wise to give an honest answer. So why have one? Let's say a player was an ass and he created bad chemistry. Do you say that even though that is the correct answer? Not wise to throw anyone under the bus when they will come back to play against you.
I think this is Joe's chance to talk about what he likes about the new guys and how this fits his plans for the team going forward and that's it. Those will be the only comments worth listening to. I will be shocked if everything else isn't fluff.
the plan is simple today. New guys get uniforms and photo op. Discuss their talents, stay excited, and have Coach Billups (if available) be positive while integratrating new players into the lineup. Then have Joe breifly discuss all the flexibility and cap space moving forward stuff.
In a way some of them do give an honest answer at times. “I’m not getting into that” usually translates into “Yeah, but I’m not going to say that”. Otherwise, yeah, a lot of coach speak. And our media asks the SOFTEST questions.
