The trade is imminent, with the deal expected to go through Friday, March 10, just before the start of free agency. As noted earlier, the Oakland Raiders are the leading candidate to acquire Culpepper. Culpepper could not get along with new Vikings head coach Brad Childress, and the quarterback has upset various members of the organization with what they feel is his immature behavior.</div>Culpepper and Moss reunited? Damn the 49ers play the Raiders next season... Not to mention the Raiders are my most hated team in the NFL. Hopefully he gets traded to the Phins...Whoa new shit with the Culpepper trade...<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Vikings | More about potential Culpepper tradeThu, 9 Mar 2006 20:58:31 -0800Don Seeholzer and Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, report the Minnesota Vikings would gain an additional $2.3 million in salary cap space by trading QB Daunte Culpepper. In addition, if he is traded soon, Culpepper's $6 million roster bonus would be paid by his new club. Given Culpepper's knee injury, the return on Culpepper could be minimal for the Vikings. The source said teams would not part with a first-round pick and that a conditional pick was expected. According to FOXSports.com, if the Vikings can't trade him before that bonus is due, they intend to ask him to push the date back in order to continue to work toward a trade. Pat Kirwan, a senior analyst for NFL.com, said because of Culpepper's uncertain physical status, any trade likely will involve future conditional draft choices. "This would be a sliding scale that I've run past a few general managers that are not in the market for Culpepper," Kirwan said. "The draft picks are for 2007. If you trade for the guy and he never plays, the compensation is zero. If he plays eight or less games, the compensation is a second-round pick. If he plays nine or more games, the compensation is a first-round pick. If he throws for 3,000 yards, then it's a first and a third. And if he makes the Pro Bowl next year, it's two first-round picks."</div>I think Kirwan is goin too far with the Pro Bowl compensation, maybe a 1st and a 2nd even if that...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Brooksie5 @ Mar 9 2006, 07:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Minnesota doesn't deserve Culpepper. They lied to his face. Zygi Wilf told him in a face to face meeting that they were NOT trying to shop 'Pepper around. When Culpepper found out that they were shopping him at will, he did this. It's the right move. I hope he goes to like Chicago or something and just LITES the Vikes up twice a year until he retires.</div>To be honest I would have shopped around on Culpepper too. He tore 3 ligaments in his knee, just had surgery 3 months ago, and won't be healthy for this season at the beginning at least. He won't be the same without his knee and he will now probably be skeptical about running rather than just throwing every play. We'll see, but I think we need a new face there anyway probably to take someone in the 3rd round as a RB is our first priority. We don't need dipshits like Onterrio Smith who get suspended every year for drug use or even a crybaby like Bennet who breaks his leg and wants to resign a contract for like highest paid on the team. We need Deangelo Williams yay

SO explain to me again how he wasnt the savior last year?</div><span style="color:#993399">It's really pretty simple. First six games that Daunte played:Tampa Bay- #1 defense in the NFL, won their division@Cincinnati- Lead NFL in takeaways, won their division@Chicago- Best defense in the NFL, won their division@Carolina- played in NFC Title GameVikings were a -11 in turnover ratio, and had the 29th ranked defense and league worst special teams. Enter Brad Johnson after the injury.Vikings total 33 yards of offense @ NY Giants, yet make NFL history in an improbale win with an INT/PR/KR for touchdowns......play the Lions twice...play the Rams....the Browns...all at home. Lose at Baltimore (top defense) and home to Pittsburgh. During that stretch of opponents, the Vikings defense rose to 24th...special teams cracked the top 15...turnover ration went to +17....sacks increased. Brad Johnson only threw for more than 200 yards on one occasion. The reason(s) we finished 9-7 are:1. Schedule2. Defense3. Special Teams4. Brad JohnsonClass dismissed.</span>
Amazingly, there were a lot of teams (like 8) in the running for him as of yesterday. I was reading about it in the Newspaper, and St. Louis was one of them, but now only Miami, Arizona, and Detroit are. As far as I know anyways.

Daunte for Bulger 4th rounder this year, and a pick depending upon play next year as much as a 1st and 2nd rounder but as little as just a 2nd rounder. That is a rumor I heard. I will die if it happens.
