I'd actually be more inclined to steal it then.

It would pay off if he found out I stole it 6 months later. It would be straighter than new.

I'd take it down to metal and skim the whole thing until it was perfect.

We have had a 2015 VW e-Golf as my wife's car / city car for the last 2 years - it is a full electric - and quite frankly - the best city car we ever had. It has a short range (83 miles, the new model has 124) - so can not be the only car we have - but it is amazing as a city appliance. It helps that they had to put the GTI's suspension on it - so it is actually also fun to drive.

Because it is new technology - we did a lease - so next year we will have to replace it with something else. I suspect another EV of some sort will be the replacement.

I'm thinking about getting one of those next year. Oregon just approved new electric car incentives so between state and federal you're looking at $12,500 off the price.

It has been almost perfect. The biggest issue with it is the passive battery cooling/heating - it is losing range faster than it should when it is cold. If you are going to lease - no problem, buying however - I would look at an EV with active battery cooling/heating. Otherwise, the Golf has been fantastic.

I hate the look of the Prius. Such an ugly car.

It is, but you can buy the hybrid technology in just about anything - a Camry for example - which just looks like a car. Toyota does not make a pure EV however.

It is not. The Prius Prime (https://www.toyota.com/priusprime/) has a slightly larger battery for a bit more range and you can plug it in to charge it, but it is still a hybrid. The nice thing about an EV is that it is very simple - other than batteries degrading - there is nothing to go wrong - and no real maintenance - no oil changes, no belts, nothing.

Our car has 1 scheduled service per year - where they rotate the wheels. Nothing else is done or needed.

    Real EVs on the market:

Nissan Leaf (A new one is coming out soon)
    VW e-Golf
    Mercedes B-series electric
Focus Electric (might not be offered any more)
    Chevy Bolt
    Tesla Models S, 3, X
Fiat 500e (if they still sell it)
    BMW i3
    Kia Soul EV
Mitsubishi i-Miev or something like that

In theory - the Hyundai Ionic / Kia Nero will have true EV next year as well - but I think this the list of current EV cars available on the market.

Everything is stock except there interior.

This is an example of what I want -- lowered with stock GT wheels that were stretched - widened step-up lip:

Nice! I just picked a nice used 2006 Corolla myself. Only had to chip in a bit more after the settlement when Chevy got totaled. Thing gets GREAT gas mileage since it's a manual. I am going to put a new stereo system and what not because I hate the current sound system.

v8. Money car. Hasn't had any problems. Paid off. Which is the way I like it. I'll probably keep another 5 years.
