<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CelticBalla32 @ May 10 2006, 08:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Brand hasn't proved anything? Haha. 20/10 every single year in the league, including rookie year. Got the Clippers organization back on its feet. Top 5 MVP candidate this year. He is a dominant rebounder (one of the best offensive rebounders in the NBA), especially for 6'8''. He is very strong and bangs in the post on both ends of the floor. He is a good defensive player/shot blocker, and even has a real nice 10-15 foot jumper. He's unselfish, humble, and a model citizen. If Brand played for a better team than the Clippers his whole career (except for when he started off in Chicago), then he would be in the same sentence as Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett. No that does not mean better than, that means not too far off.</div>Granted Brand is a good player, but players make show how good they are in the playoffs. It doesnt matter how good you are in the regular season. How many seasons has Brand been in the postseason? 1 and that is this year. Yes, Brand has a great chance when he retires farther down the line, but this is if he retires right this moment, and that just isnt "hall of fame" material.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BCB @ May 10 2006, 09:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Chauncey Billups in the HOF? His early NBA career basically shattered his chances of getting in.</div>Ok, he's been to the NBA Finals 2 times in a row; most likely 3 in a row. He has 1 NBA finals MVP. It really doesnt matter if he's been a journeyman most of his career. His stats are somewhat comparable to Jason Kidd. Kidd has better assists numbers, but i think a ring and Finals MVP evens that out. Billups is a HOF.

So one MVP trophy makes you a lock?I know there were alot of people who didn't think 1 MVP trophy made Nash a lock...he is now with 2, but I think if KG can get in after doing nothing so far throughout his career...Then Dirk should be in the discussion, because he's done as much or more than KG has, minus 1 MVP trophy. Allthough Dirk has finished 3rd 2 years strait. But then again, Dirk is only 28, and if the Mavs win a championship, I think it'll lock up a spot for him too.

This is my list for current NBA players who should and probably will go on in to the Hall of Fame. These players are already proven yourself, so when everyone else posts, dont put someone like Chris Paul or Dwyane Wade.Alonzo Mourning - used to be 20 ppg guy in heydey, amazing defender, still is, 2 defensive player of the year awardsKevin Garnett - 2004 mvp, face of timberwolves, versatility, dominant post man, great rebounder.Shaquille Oneal- most dominant player 3 rings, averages of 26.3 ppg, 11.8 rpg.Gary Payton- great defender, top 10 pgs, averages of Kobe Bryant - 3 rings, part of lakers mini dynasty, lead league in scoring 05-06, 81 point game, 62 pts in 3 quarters, etc...Tim Duncan - 2 MVPs, 3 rings, all time great, amazing dominant presence, good rebounderSteve Nash - 2 MVPS, one of top 10 pgs, changes style of playDirk Nowitzki (not so sure yet) Jermaine Oneal (not so sure)Jason Kidd- one of top 10 pgs, good run and gun style of play, taken team to finals twice, changed the way some teams play
I know you said don't include people who haven't fully proved themselves, but Lebron will be going to the Hall as well.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Marvinmartian @ May 11 2006, 12:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>So one MVP trophy makes you a lock?</div>Yes, end of story.
No it doesn't.KG will have to have a very long productive career, or win a championship soon.Dirk will probably do both...he should win a Championship at some point.

He's headed there soon, which I said. The only two players you coud make arguments for are Steve Nash and Dave Cowens, both of which will make it in.

Look at his team the last few years. NO PLAYOFFS. A player that is a lock for the HOF has to be able to lead his team to the playoffs by himself. And he's in a weak divsion. Every time he makes it to the playoffs, eccept one time, he hasnt been able to get out of the 1st round. I just dont know about KG any more. Not sure if he's HOF. Most players are in the HOF for what they did during the postseason. Think about it, name me a memory of yours on Michael Jordan. I gauruntee its from the postseason. Even if its not a player that won a championship, players are made in the postseason. Name something that KG has done, and to me i cant name 1 thing that stands out that is incredible. Yes he has a MVP, but no credibility or anything to back him up in the postseason that pushes him over the edge to be a Hall of Famer.

He's still a better player than Dirk is, saying that Dirk has to make it in if Kevin does is ridiculous. Winning an MVP award puts you in a very elite class, anyone who wins that will make the hall of fame. I don't even know why I'm debating this with you, of course he'll get inducted.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (pjcolpitts @ May 12 2006, 03:12 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>See, i think KG is a great player, but i think he isnt able to lead a team. This "he isn't a good leader" stuff is bullsh**.
To say Kevin Garnett won't make the hall of fame is completely and utterly ridiculous. Look at what the man's stats will probably be when he finishes his career:20,000+ points, 10,000+ rebounds, 4000+ assists, 1500+ blocks, and one MVP trophy.Yes, he is a poor leader, but all but one player (Dave Cowens) who has won an MVP award either has made it into the hall of fame, or will is on his way, and it will be no different for KG.Also, AirBlaze, I'm assuming you mistakenly left Iverson off your list...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (JustBlaze @ May 10 2006, 08:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>So even though he's worse in every area except shooting, he makes it to the Hall of Fame instead of Pierce? That's ridiculous.</div>Pierce hasn't done anything to be remembered for. His biggest accomplished is leading his team to the Easter conference finals and only taking it to six games. He has had good stats but alot of players put up good numbers. I think Pierce is better than Allen but Ray has the single season record for 3's and will most likely get the overall record as well.
YEah, but Pierce will get 20000+ points, and he still has a bit of a career ahead of him, he will make it. He will do something significant, with his talent it's bound to happen.
