I think you’re looking too much into it. It was heat of the moment, he was on a roll, and he probably was tired about hearing his poor performance the last couple games and it came out. I’m not saying it’s totally okay but you have to understand it’s the western conference finals and it’s very competitive.
Honestly, I think the only time I've "heard" Dame cuss is when you could read his lips cussing (I.E. after .9). I can't remember a whole lot of times hes cussed in an interview. I'm probably wrong, and it's 12:45 am and just spent 4 days in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but yeah... (which, by the way, go. Some of the most beautiful places in the country)
I don't usually post a link unless requested or if it's already common knowledge. Most people take me at my word that I know what the heck I'm talking about. Only occasionally do I typically get a request for a link.
Hey, my best friend in the Army was from Ishpeming, upstate Michican, on that peninsula. He taught me how to pronounce sauna (sow nuh). He was an expert on cars from the 50s and 60s.
There are an awful lot of young kids watching. Whenever I'm around young children you can bet your bottom dollar that I do not swear. Heck, whenever I take a youngster with me to have pizza my wife and I have a soft drink rather than a beer. I'm just not in favor of youngsters witnessing my bad behavior.
I can excuse minor bad behavior during a game because of the intensity of the event but my hat is off to Steph for apologizing for it. He is the product of good parenting.
He will always be his mom's child. His mom did the right thing and he did right by apologizing, at least according to the way I was raised. You've never had your mouth washed with soap? My parent's are both deceased but I never swore in front of them. I guess it's from old habit.
I never cussed until high school. I also learned from other construction workers how to cuss. My father was first a brick layer and later a home builder. Then there was the army. Of course I learned new swear words there. Let's not forget college where even more swear words were learned. Yep, an awful lot of people swear a lot but I never swear in front of children.
My parents don’t scold me, but they still parent me and I think as long as we’re all alive they will try to steer me in the way they think is right (whether others agree with them doesn’t matter). I’m sure most of us would do the same for our kids if we thought their behavior sucked we’d tell them. You can argue swearing, and whatever morality markers you want, but I don’t think you ever stop parenting your kids. I know if I offended my parent even on something I didn’t think was a big deal I’d apologize to them for it.
My knees and back are all good, I've never had an injury to either. I still wish I could've donated some meniscus to B-Roy. My feet are my demise. I got inserts from Good Feet a few years ago and that helped with the Plantar Fasciitis but I have really bad Achilles Tendinosis with Bone Spurs in my heel. So I'm more like the Sabonis rookie year, although I am still mobile. I've learned to deal with the pain. What happens is every time I lift the back of my foot or jump my achilles tears slightly from the heel bone. This causes internal bleeding and then calcifies over which causes this knot to grow larger on the back of my foot that is essentially bone. Most people have a little version of this but it's more rare to be on the part of the back of my foot where it rubs against my shoe and becomes irritated when I run which in turns makes the knot worse. If it was just a fraction of an inch either direction I wouldn't even know it's there and I'd be totally fine. It's possible it can move on it's own but I haven't gotten that lucky yet. There is a surgery that the doctor says is practically 100% successful where they go in and chisel off the bone growth, slice through the achilles to remove the bone spurs, and then reattach the achilles. I have great insurance that would cover the cost of the surgery too. The problem is that you have to go at least 6 weeks afterwards without being able to drive or move around much. Having my own business and little kids around makes that very difficult to find a time to take 6 weeks to heal and not drive. Plus I play in basketball leagues year round and want to do things like the Rip City 3 on 3 tourney and play hoops at that school with you guys.
