Cutler Traded to Da Bears Link Not a surprise here, but I'm shocked it got taken care of so quickly. I'm also somewhat shocked the Broncos got that much considering they came out and said they were trading him, which usually depreciates trade value a bit. Regardless, it'll work. Kyle Orton is a solid QB, and I think McDaniels can turn him into a very good QB, plus a couple firsts.
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears The Broncos did a great job getting those picks for him, I thought they might get a bit less with Cutler being so vocal.
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears I thought they'd get less because they came out and SAID they were trading him. That's something you don't do, because then people can lowball you knowing that you want to get rid of him. Anyone think that there's a chance Sanchez does a Quinn-esque freefall to the Broncos in the draft, now that they somewhat need a QB?
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears All he needs is one. And I think the Bears tight ends can catch the ball
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears bears gave up way too much. cutler isn't worth two 1sts and they may be giving up a 3rd as well depending on which reports you believe.
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears They didn't give up too much. They got a Pro Bowl caliber QB, and in order to get one, you're going to have to give up a good amount. I'd say it's a pretty fair trade, considering it's a HUGE upgrade to Orton, and they weren't going to be getting a QB that good in this years draft.
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears Too bad they're not going to be able to stretch the field the way Brandon Marshall could. I will say, if Devin Hester continues to progress, he could be a very good, viable target at WR.
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears This was the one Cutler scenario that I didn't see happening (probably why it happened). On the surface, it seems like a perfect match, because the Bears have been missing a legit QB since the beginning of time, and they have a solid line and great running game to help him out, and as mentioned he has two big TE targets to throw to. However, I don't know if the Bears (Lovie Smith) are going to change their main offensive plan, the smash running game. There's a good chance Cutler will be under-utilized (whether legimately or just in his mind), and given his attitude in Denver, there's a chance that might lead to trouble. I don't know, this is one of those trades that will either push the Bears up towards 12-14 wins and being a top 2 team in the NFC, or they will be a severe disappointment and be minus 2 first rounders in the near future.
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears Now let's look at this from the flipside. Denver now has the following picks in this year's draft: 12, 18, 48, 79, and 84. Plus two first rounders in 2010. So they aren't doing too badly, and if Orton shits the bed, that position can comfortably be addressed next year.
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears Well, I'm thinking there's a CHANCE Sanchez falls to 12, and if he does, don't you almost have to take him if your the Broncos?
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears I hope they do, in order to assure me that I won't have to deal with Dumbinik taking him. Will they, probably not.
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears I dunno, I'm pessimistic. It's a pretty rare deal that giving up 2 first rounders works out. They're the lifeblood of an NFL team. Giving up one I could pretty easily live with for Cutler, but I'm far from sold on him. Chicago tears up QBs.
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears How will they draft him without a 1st Rounder? Sorry, didn't know you fixed that...lol
Re: Cutler Traded to the Bears TRS (temporary retard syndrome) fucked with my brain. Though I guess he could fall to the second round.
