Big jump for the Blazers! http://dabullz.com/2008/11/29/dabullzcom-power-rankings-11-29-08/ Don't forget, become a fan on facebook if you have one.
Portland ranked 12th shows that your system is flawed. They might not end up better than other teams in front of them, but they are better right now than both Orlando and Detroit who'm they beat on their home floors. They have also beat Houston, San Antonio and split with NO
Pretty much what you would expect out of the playoffs imo. The inexperienced Blazers falling to the Suns, with an aging Shaq and Nash who are trying to win one last championship. Kind of like the Bulls losing in 2004-2005, despite having the third best record.
So is your ranking about how teams will do in the playoffs or where they stand now . . . cause I don't get it. How can Detroit be power ranked above the Blazers when the Blazers have a better record, a harder schedule and just spanked Detroit in their own crib. And about playoffs, why do you put Denver ahead of Ptd in the playoffs . . . they have the same record so it comes down to the tie break. If Ptd wins the tie break then they play NO in the first round . . . so apparently Ptd doesn't beat teams like Detroit and Orlando in the playoffs but they do beat teams like NO in the playoffs??? Still like checking in on your power rankings . . . but they seem way off.
But the inexperienced Blazers will beat NO who went further than the Suns last season. Not making sense . . . One thing we can all agree on . . . Bulls ain't beating anyone in the playoffs or even making the playoffs.
but regular season losses translate to playoff wins? bottom line is that your ranking system is very flawed without taking into account the strength of the opponents that have been played. the only time the rankings will be relatively accurate will be towards the end of the year and they still will likely be off due to the differences in conference schedules.
It's going to be insanely close between Boston and Los Angeles tomorrow for the top spot. I don't have all the numbers in yet, I have to wait until tomorrow morning to get the pace adjusted offense/defensive numbers. It will be really close up top tomorrow.
You're going to do it before the C's - Pacers game? (or after) But yeah, it might even be tied, but something inside tells me the Lakers will still continue to lead by 0.5 to 1 point. lol
LOL at Portland moving moving up 3 spots after beating the pathetic Knicks....and struggling while they did it.
Blazers were narrowly behind the Suns/Rockets, and the Spurs suffered a devetating defeat. Thus how the Blazers made their 3 spot leap.
It'll be interesting to see whether the Lakers can regather and hold off the Celtics and keep the top spot all season, or if they will cede the top spot to Boston, possibly, as early as tonight...it's that close!
