    Agree with you. I do not drink. Have not for a long time but those who drink a beer at times are not worshipping alcohol and to say they are seems a bit out of touch.

    That's all good that you don't drink and all, and have a disesteem for it, but it's more than a bit irreverent to suggest that someone you don't even know is an alcoholic.

    I hear you and I appreciate what you were saying. And glad that that is something that you are free of. Honestly and sincerely. I have people in my life that are still here because they gave that up, but just barely. I've also lost people close to me. I know it is kind of an extreme thing to say what I said, it was kind of an impulsive, snap reaction and I just went with it. I don't mean to make assumptions, but sometimes it really scratches me the wrong way to hear talk like that, even if it is casual. I guess it can be triggering to me? I guess I might tend to launch into a rant about such a topic on the internet, where words tend to flow and get away from me, And again without more thought as to how it's perceived and how it might make someone feel.

    @BoBoBREWSKI

    Dear sir, I really didn't mean to be offensive and make assumptions and be so extreme in what I said. I just, as I said above, get kind of triggered sometimes about that kind of stuff. And feel maybe a little more emboldened by being on an online forum to rant about something I'm more passionate about than I realized.

    I have someone extremely close to me that has to deal with it all the time and I guess it has definitely bled over into me. To have almost lost your life and finally gotten free of something and then to have people always either joking about it or seriously suggesting it or offering it at all kinds of casual events and settings is really tough for this person and it has definitely got me to realize how big of an issue it is in society and with people.

    People take it lightly, but maybe you should stop and think that maybe not everyone likes alcohol and doesn't necessarily want to have it offered or brought up constantly like it's the greatest thing in the world when they have learned it's actually quite the opposite.

    And basically, there are so many more ways to feel good than to put that into your system.

    Funnily enough, I was picking up (with a shovel, because of the stage they are in now, haha) pears off the ground in my yard where they have been sitting for a while and are the tail-end of this year's harvest from this tree and my daughter and I noticed that there were a lot of "sugar" ants on them and we correctly surmised that this might be a reason why we've been dealing with less ants in the house lately... and she noticed that the ants were "asleep".

    I pondered that for a moment and realized the are likely drunk out of their minds on the fermented pear juice from weeks old pairs rotting and fermenting in the Sun. I usually have time to keep these picked up or pick them before they drop, but I've been very busy this year.

    Anyway, I told her that even little tiny things like ants can be toxicated by alcohol and it's kind of crazy how they do it even though it's probably almost killing them. At the very least it is making them sluggish and basically knocking them out.

    And then today, I am thinking how it is kind of insane how people do this to themselves. Can you imagine when the properties of alcohol within fruits and grain and such was discovered in ancient times and people would have considered it a poison that was hampering their ability to move and think and it would make them sick. And now we do it intentionally and pay great amounts of money for it and companies make billions on it. It's ridiculous and sad.

    I wouldn't walk through the forest and find a rotting fermented apple and eat it and think to myself, wow that was great!

    Don't bring me into this. I could care less what you say or think about people who enjoy some booze, beer, or wine and I didn't take any offense to it.
