if you say so. the only thing kidd can really do anymore is pass and rebound. he's a bad defender. he's a bad shooter(doesn't even have the confidence in his own shot to take wide open shots half the time). he's a bad scorer. if you're relying on him at pg, your team has some problems. that doesn't mean he wasn't great earlier in his career, he just isn't now.
He's still a pretty solid starter dude, and he can hit threes. Kidd guarded SGs mostly this past season I heard.
because he can't guard pgs. he can hit 3s, but if you watch him play, teams don't bother guarding him at the 3 point line and he still has no confidence to take the wide open 3 half the time even when there is no better option. i disagree with him being a solid starter. he's definitely a below average starter(meaning not a top 15 pg in the league).
He can guard point guards, but has difficulty guarding the likes of Parker, Paul, or any other quick guard. But then again, let's not go under the assumption that other guards defend Parker or Paul any better. Otherwise, they wouldn't be considered as great as they are. Kidd didn't guard mostly SG's this season. There were instances when he was guarding Kobe, Pierce etc, because he remains one of the best defenders in the league. Kidd might have lost quickness with age, but definitely not IQ. That doesn't diminish with age. So what if teams don't guard his 3's? He's hitting them. Kidd is a top 10 PG in the league, if not 5.
