<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post"> It would also create even more offensive prowess when the team decides to play small. Who can a center like Yao or Shaq guard?</div>

Dampier was supposed to insure that the days of "small ball" in Dallas was over. Well, so much for that plan. Ugh.

I don't think that small ball is necessarily bad for this lineup. Nowitzki has the height to play center but on offense would require a power forward or small forward to guard him. With Van Horn at power forward, the opposing team's center can't guard him, and with maybe Stackhouse, Finley and Terry at the other three positions, there's not one player that the opposing center can guard. It's definitely a matchup nightmare, and it's very intriguing to even fantasize about this lineup, especially if you play against a team with a traditional center. Rebounding-wise, it would be a hit though, but the Mavs could use that lineup 15 minutes a game so that Damp could get his burn as well, although he's not playing like he deserves it. It's really confusing to think that Damp is playing like a scrub when the look of his body makes you think elite player. I mean, he looks so strong and big that it wouldn't be absurd to place his face with a 20/10 player.

I felt sorry for the Mavs. Steve Nash just won't let his Suns go down without a fight. Nash played an MVP game again. Too bad the Mavs didn't took advantage of Amare's poor game. Lack of defense killed the Mavs. I think Avery Johnson still has lot to prove that his team can play defense especially down the stretch. Although they did a good job on Amare they were'nt able to neutralize Nash at all. As for Nowitzki he should improve his defensive game next time around. There were a couple of times throughout the series that Nash was able to make shots with Nowitzki guarding him. I was wondering if Nowitzki took it lightly when guarding Nash just because he is his bestfriend. It's like letting a small kid score on you so that the game would be fair for him as well as to build his confidence but when he catches on you and your shots were not falling you became nervous of losing to him in front of the audience.

Anyway it was still a good series between two top offensive teams. Going into game 7 would be nice but the Suns can't just wait to face the Spurs in the Conference Finals.

Tough loss, Mavs fans. But I think the Mavericks had a hell of a season, considering who they lost (the eventual MVP), the injuries, and the coaching change. It's almost assured that Dallas will continue to be an elite team for years to come. Jason Terry and Josh Howard are future all-stars. Marquis Daniels, too, if he can stay healthy next year. And Damp just needs a kick in the rear before every game, and he'll be a very good center as well.

First of all Nowitski is 7 foot tall, gaurding a 6 foot 2 point guard who's the MVP of the leauge... that is a major mismatch in the favour of Steve Nash. He's so much quicker and faster than Dirk obviously he's able to score on him.

Game 6: The better team won the game and the series. A 7-game series is the ultimate lithmus test on who is the better team at that particular time, and the Phoenix Suns proved that again. Dallas looked tired both physically and mentally, so that by the fourth quarter they just didn't have enough to beat the Phoenix Suns.

Congratulations to the Suns in their win. Congratulations to the Mavs for a 58-win season and a second round playoff appearance. They can see where they need to improve to be a championship team, and let's hope they get that done for next year's playoff run.

Thanks Dallas Mavericks for a memorable season!
