if Ant is a Blazer, he starts....that's about as certain as anything for Portland right now. Either Scoot of Sharpe will come off the bench

This is a classic case of Blazer fans over valuing hard working end of roster guys. Watford was not growing into a legit rotation player ever.

Joe sucks, but I don't blame him. Last year's draft was a revelation, and we killed it this draft.

There is no definitive list. We will get Dame to a good situation for him we better also get back the best package a good team can offer us. I've been saying this for a while but Brooklyn will probably make the most sense.

That should just be the team slogan.

Agreed. It appears we really scored in consecutive drafts. The payoff may be a bit longer but we’d be nuts not to go this route. Tanking couldn’t have worked much better.

I'm inclined to believe Cronin would be better if he didn't have the cheapskates that are Jody and Vulcan presiding over him.

Olshey had Paul Allen who was at least better and wanted to win. Everyone including Dame held onto Olshey/Stotts/CJ for far too long.

100% - I do not believe there is any way to restructure that mess NeO left without a long process. It does not work unless people are willing to come to Portland to play with Dame. There was only 1 guy that really wanted to do that and Cronin got him. He had to retain some of the talent to try and make trades and he did it. He had to nail his drafts and he seems to have done that as well. Yes, this is 100% a process to fix the mess NeO left. Anyone that expected a miracle of turning that poo poo plater into gold on a dime thinks the Portland is downtown LA or Miami Beach. It's not.

So Dame wants to go to a team that was in the Finals 2 of the last 3 years? Not exactly what he has preached for so long.

Yeah, just wish he could have been real with Dame about it and who knows maybe he was but to me it felt like Joe said one thing and did the opposite too many times and Dame departing is on him. There will be plenty of time to be excited about our young guys. Right now for me it's a time to mourn the loss of Dame and Joe is the guy who is taking Dame from us in my opinion.

    Let's put it this way:

    Draft Joe is good.

    Trade Joe is fucking awful.

I didn't say we would get value for him, I just said he will be gone. It may take until the trade deadline (when other teams have injuries and are desperate) but surely you agree he won't be here long-term.

    Saying this for years
Chauncey strikes me as one of those coaches that might be good at teaching young pros the ropes, building that foundation, but not the guy to be able to make the team overall a championship contender.

If the Blazers go into a full tank and just are going to play young guys with a few, savvy, non-descript vets in the rotation to in essence serve as glorified assistant coaches, he might be worth keeping around for another year or two to build some professionalism and toughness. Then the Blazers go out and get a guy that knows how to push the buttons to make good young players a team that can win playoff series.

That makes no sense. But the way we're going I suppose it's possible.

I think he'll end up coming off the bench.

I hear you, but Dame should have given JoeCro at least 2 more weeks.

I would be impressed if Chauncey has the balls to play Scoot and Shae over Ant.

My expectatioms for this SSS backcourt:
    ROTY
    MIP
    6MOTY

That's how it is for most teams. Except the ones where it is worse.

It makes all the sense in the world. If he stays, he starts to build his trade value.
