Switch OG and Trent and add a pick or two from the Raps, and that deal is enticing as hell to me. To TOR: Dame To PHX: Nurk, Trent To POR: Ayton, Anunoby, pick(s) Scoot / Ant Ant / Sharpe OG / Thybulle Grant / ? Ayton / ? That's a way more balanced roster than anything Cronin has ever put together.
Certainly a much better frontcourt than Dame ever had since the Aldridge era. I dunno of playoffs, but play in maybe. The only hold up would be our appetite to pay OG next summer. Locking up 100 mil to the front court is tough.
GOOD. FUCK MIAMI. I think we win any trade that doesn't go to Miami simply because we would hear Miami fans cry and that's just as good as a first round pick.
Are you using reverse psychology? I suddenly feel compelled to quote everything from Barry Jackson. https://x.com/flasportsbuzz/status/1705302632854683833?s=20 The Heat-Portland Trail Blazers stare down on a potential Damian Lillard trade continued early this week amid national reports that Portland’s recent focus has been discussions with other teams, not Miami. “There has not been conversation really this summer, perhaps since July, with Portland and Miami,” ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said Tuesday. “What Miami looks at essentially is we don’t believe you have something better than you know we can give you. “And teams don’t just spend their time calling [and saying], ‘Let me offer you more, let me offer you more.’ That’s not a negotiation. There’s a lot of gamesmanship in how this goes.” A source said this week that Portland generally has continued to be reluctant to engage the Heat in serious talks and has acted disinterested in getting a deal done quickly with Miami, though that conceivably could change as the start of training camp approaches in early October. As Wojnarowski said, the Heat “want Damian Lillard. They just want him for as little as they’re going to have to give up. They’re essentially daring Portland to go out into the marketplace, which Portland is doing, and see if they can find better…. “The goal isn’t to just get Damian Lillard. It’s to get Damian Lillard for as little as you have to give up to be able to still have the ability to put a team around Jimmy Butler, Lillard, Bam Adebayo in Miami.” Whether another team — besides Miami — makes a competitive offer remains the unknown. Action Sports Network NBA writer Matt Moore said the Toronto Raptors have “kicked the tires” on Lillard. As ESPN’s Zach Lowe said, one general manager asked him: “Are we going to turn into a weigh station for Damian Lillard until he gets to where he wants to go?” If Lillard is traded to a team other than Miami, he is expected to ask to be traded to the Heat. “I think there are teams that will trade for him,” Wojnarowski said. “But it’s a little bit of a negotiating crutch where you tell Portland, ‘Hey, I’m not offering you everything we might because we’re taking risk here.’ Read more at: https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/...y-jackson/article278140147.html#storylink=cpy
Also, Ayton coming back probably means OG signs with you in free agency. That team has some playoff upside—if not this year than probably next year and the year after.
trade him literally anywhere, just not to the miami heat trading him to miami is a "fuck you" to us from ourselves
The Heat subreddit is losing their collective shit over this recent Woj clip. Kinda funny. They'll most likely end up with him anyway, dont understand all the fuss.
So you're just ignoring the rather obvious implications of a trade to Miami? Do you, think I'm wrong? If so, can you please explain why this won't become standard operating procedure?
Well he did say "Framework" for a trade. Toronto would need to add about 11 million. (Boucher) Including Trent makes it easier IMO for Toronto because it means fewer players leaving. But I would prefer Young and Precious and let them keep Trent. Ayton and Precious can help long-term. Boucher can help this year
I'm fine with that actually. Just don't trade him directly to Miami, unless they give the Ultra-Giga-Mega package and then be sure to trumpet that all day every day.
It's far better than dooming 23 out of 30 teams to NEVER win a championship EVER again once the Jokic era is over.
At least Schultz would have been a Captain instead of a Sergeant. I would LOVE it if Portland was involved in a deal where they got something good and Miami got left out in the sun to bake with no sunscreen.
You are wrong.....that would be like saying dating ugly chicks over and over would lead to you dating a hot one. Nope!
Boucher will be out of the rotation almost immediately. I like what he can be but know the truth about him.
