Age, contract and the superstar's desire to play for only one team will definitely make it a challenge. Fingers crossed.
I bet so much of the communication and negotiation with Dame and Joe were through Dames agent, which in itself isn't ideal.
Who knows. I'd love one more shit year with the young guys getting a ton of run so we can draft our SF, PF or Center of the future if we don't get one in the deal with Dame.
Did KG ever publicly "request a trade"? No ulterior motive in the question, I just don't remember. Clearly this is the way the league is now. We hear about Harden demanding a trade. KD demanded a trade. I just don't remember it being a thing that was so public before a handful of years ago. It's an interesting shift of power towards the players. (Unless I'm mistaken and was just oblivious to it 10 years ago)
If we can get 1 good starter (F or C), and some draft capital, I am really excited about the season. I will continue to believe Scoot is the next DRose, and Sharpe is the next Jordan, until I am proved wrong. #Go Blazers
The baking was the dame timeline This is a whole new chef in the kitchen sotospeak. Not Cronin, just a metaphorical chef timeline. This analogy made no fucking sense but I'm posting it anyway
if he is asking to leave, im good with that - im not good with being the only good faith player in the outgoing solution. if the offers from the desired locations arent good and useful (as most want to trade trash for gold, not their viable assets) then i 100% dont care where dame ends up, we need to build and cater for what is left once he leaves.
I would definitely trade Dame to a team where he has a better chance to compete but by no means would I limit myself to Miami. Dame said Brooklyn before the draft. I'm sure there are some other teams. We need to make sure Dame is in a good situation but the priority is getting the best package back for him possible that helps our youth rebuild.
Brooklyn is a good situation. It's biggest city New York. All the ringer chasers will follow him there and he will get his precious ring.
Um....you said those picks were pointless.....and I gave 5 examples that showed that pointless is incorrect. Next you move the rhetoric to "less like likely they hit". If you had used the latter description in the first place, I would never have responded to your post. I'll respectfully refrain in the future from interaction with you forward. Go Blazers.
years?....it's been 18 months. 15 months since Cronin's 1st trade deadline which was the first opportunity he had to make changes. Olshey had 10 trade deadlines and 10 off-seasons; to this point, Cronin has had 2 trade deadlines and one off-season. And his first trade deadline the main order of business was dismantling the Olshey roster with the Vulcans looking over his shoulder that isn't to excuse what Cronin has done. He's done well in the draft, generally OK in trades, but his last off-season was not good as he was busy bidding against himself. And so far, this offseason, he's given Grant a huge 5 year deal. Anybody see another team in the league that would have given Grant anywhere close to that much?
Should have known that bleeping Sasquatch was a bad omen. Probably the reason Dame requested a trade…who knows.
Cronin seems to be going for it now. Not a championship, but to be as good as possible. No more depleted bench including Greg Brown III, CJ Elleby, and Keljin Blevins. He let Eubanks go. Now stocking up on a 2-or 3-headed monster of 7-footers behind Nurkic, (if he stays). If Cronin can get a really good small forward, I think there won't be any unintentional tanking.
