Of course rap is not my thing and i'm probably way too old to know better but this is my opinion about pretty much all rap. They all sound the same on every track. Except of course Run DMC when they were with Aerosmith.

Nope not wrong at all. But here is where the difference would be. AC/DC sounds like AC/DC. Rush sounds like Rush. Boston sounds like Boston. Aerosmith sounds like Aerosmith. ZZtop sounds like ZZtop but not one of those sounds the same as the other.
That is the problem with Rap in general.

When Ice Cube said, paraphrasing, "Dame got flow!" ... I think that's what people are referring to when they say every Dame track sounds the same. I've by no means listened to the bulk of his stuff, but everything I've heard has felt too mellow and monotone, no excitement, all flow. It's sorta like in Hustle & Flow (see what I did there?), when D-Jay (sp?) is just going on endlessly and is told he needs a hook.

Dame might be okay in a group, like how Ren could shine in short verses, but when carrying the occasional NWA song it was always the worst on the album, and he was worthless as a solo artist. Just too boring to listen to for long. Ice Cube, on the other hand, had the distinctive voice but brought a different flavor to every song. You don't need to change your sound as a vocalist, but you have to have range. It's basically the difference between a good singer and a talent show karaoke cover artist. The latter can only shine when confined to a small box.

He's of course not one the best rappers working today, but he's not bad either. Tons of rappers go their whole careers saying the same few things in different ways and never drastically changing their style. But I do think it's quite obvious that if he wasn't Damian Lillard the NBA star, his music career wouldn't really be much to speak about, and most of us would have never heard of him.

Ricky Bobby for sure; 2nd I’m leaning towards money ball; beat is certified.

As I type this I hear some dude on the street bumping this album.

This album is better than I thought it would be at first glance.

Still not his best, but I don’t feel like I wasted my money.

I think the problem is he doesn't switch up his flow at all. Doesnt even try. Thats why it sounds the same.

Nah, you are just only hearing what is in the mainstream or radio. There are so many different styles of hip hop, you might just be only hearing what is in the mainstream or popular right now.

Just like people think all Blue Note Jazz artists sound the same and that's ridiculous. Or all Atlantic Records R&B music from the late 50s to late 60s was the same.

When it comes to rap, im more into the beats and the meaning of the words than the flow.

I'll listen to it tonight on the way home.

Nah bro. I'm not hearing any of it really. Except when some kid drives by with it blaring. I don't mind them doing that because i used to do it with Def Leppard and Van Halen. Just sayin. Some things never change.

This is funny because rap has changed since the 90’s-early 00’s and it’s gone down hill since the golden era of hip hop.

There’s still some solid artists out there in the mainstream but not like back then.
