When it comes to hamstrings and injuries like this….I always expect them to miss the longest amount of time the press release claims. I won’t expect him back in 1 week.

In the long run, if Sharpe gets some serious minutes, by hopefully starting, this could speed up his development, and that's a very good thing. Bottom line, we need Dame back at his peak performance level.

Dame will be evaluated 1-2 weeks… losing streak starts now.

He better get some serious minutes. Nobody else has outplayed him that would be in his spot.
It's a no-brainer that Sharpe should be starting at the 2 or 3. Forget about short-term wins and bench scoring. This team needs another star who can and will dribble through half-court traffic and finish.

Do you mean like Nas did last night? I am fine with SS starting, but it doesn't make any difference if he starts or comes off the bench....as long as he is getting minutes.

Or Sharpe could explode as a star in that time by getting way more playing time and a green(er) light.

But it might matter to his mental maturing. Thats another level of confidence required at his age and infancy to the nba.
Lets see where he lands out of the gate against other starters. im all for starting him.

This may be a load management move to help jumpstart Ant after his sluggish start first 3 games..get his confidence at a high level and then bring Dame and Payton into the mix a couple weeks in.

A calf strain in a different area. That is concerning. They really need to give him all the time it takes to fully heal. If the calf is hurt, the body has to compensate and it puts a lot of pressure on other parts of the leg.

I would be really surprised to see Dame use load management as a reason for taking time off. Dame just doesn’t strike me as the load management type.

It's not Dame who makes that call...it's the training staff...they've been quick to sit anyone who's dinged up at all.

True. But, if he says he wants to play are they going to stop him? Not that he's going to.

The money he's paid and given his value he's worth to the team as an asset I don't think they're going to risk the more serious Achilles tear that can stem from calf injuries....I totally understand why they are sitting him....he's missed 5 games already and just came off a year without playing....now is the time to address any lingering aggravations and that's a good training staff....not a stubborn player....I think Dame is done with his playing through injury machismo after his last surgery. I want him peaking in March, not limping into the playoffs. I also expect a few players to be moved at the deadline and think now we're trying to showcase some trade value...
