There's no denying this is true that I was born in and live in the whitest city in america.

But to say that is a reason why Black athletes won't come here is PURE bullshit and you're only using Greg Oden's comments to say that's true.

Charles Barkley is as black as they come (from Alabama) and he wanted to be traded here...

Guys like to make up shit. It's funny how it's ok to generalize black people but I swear if I said something like:

Well white people don't like to go to Atlanta, MFs in here would be up in arms.

Stop... Really... You look stupid when you do it...

And they’re not destinations either. Weird.

Having a desire to live in a culturally diverse city isn’t stupid. Actually, it’s the exact opposite.

I am not sure if the stats back me up but I believe the Jazz have gone after more international players than most teams because they know they have had issues keeping American born players. (Black and White) Their selling point to Euros is the city is beautiful, clean, cheap, easy to get around, and fans that adore them......The negatives is it is boring and a little weird for most NBA players. (and cold during the season)

I don't think Portland is as desperate.

Bro, saying what greg said was stupid and wrong. Plain and simple.

That MF didn't say "I have a desire to live in a culturally diverse city".

That's not what he said or what he meant.

And you'd be saying the same thing. Both "chocolate cities".

Very different though. Atlanta, though it has a large black population, doesn't necessarily have the reputation of not being safe for white people. Compton, however, has a different rep. If you were to say "white people don't like to go to Compton," you'd be making a statement which is, generally speaking, accurate.

    Sometimes stereotypes are accurate.

Since when does Compton have a reputation for not being safe for white people?? No, white people don't go there because that's where black people live. That's how it always has been.

    Fear.

It's never been "unsafe" for ya'll to be there, it's just that people tend to self segregate.

Besides, Compton ain't safe for BLACK people...

So if you know Compton isn’t safe for anyone, why say something like “white people dont go there because that’s where black people live?” And if you want to get technical, Latinos/Hispanics make up the majority of the population in Compton.

Exactly. Nobody WANTS to go to Compton. Most dangerous City in California.

    BS.

I obviously can't answer for black people, but I have a good friend who was robbed in Compton because he was white. That's what he was told by the two black guys that robbed him. He told me they were cool about it, but nonetheless robbed because he was white.
