Lol, I absolutely understand the frustration as a fan, but sometimes even my own posts when I read them later, I’m like what was I thinking, that wasn’t going to make the Blazers better.
It really bothers me when a player interferes with GM duties... for all we know Dame could have been the one to nix a trade at the last deadline... maybe he told Paul Allen he likes his guys and wants to roll with them... I just wish Dame would stay out of it... if he is telling Paul not to trade CJ it would be very upsetting... especially since they haven’t produced in playoffs, therefore I don’t believe he has earned the right to have any say in roster moves
what were they contending for before this season? 3 years they got knocked out in the first round and the other 2 they lost in the second round. Seems very similar to us before this year.
To me, last season’s playoffs are irrelevant to team-planning decisions. It was the Warriors and Nurkic was injured. This year’s playoffs are definitely relevant to team-planning. The question is what does the Blazers’ lack of success say about what needs to be done? Any analysis that doesn’t recognize that the Blazers were competing against a team with two first team NBA All Defensive Team players is flawed. Holiday and Davis were able to shut down the Blazers’ back court like no other team all season. To me, that doesn’t say the Blazers’ back court players are the problem; it says the players at other positions weren’t strong enough to force the Pelicans to stop double teaming Dame and CJ. It also says the bench continued to be weak. I want to see Olshey bolster the rest of the squad by adding some vets and then see how the team performs next season before breaking up Dame and CJ.
Yeah, honestly I don't want Dame involved with personnel decisions. He's worse than Olshey at talent evaluation. Loyalty is a great attribute, but when it comes to building a team it's a hindrance.
So did Canzano. I wonder if you guys share the same anonymous source. You both like to take an unsubstantiated rumor and propagate it as if it's a fact. BNM
That is exactly my point. I was responding to people saying that he is meeting with Allen because he wants Olshey gone.
How is that not stating it as fact? I see no qualifiers. I see no, "I heard..." or "My sources tell me...". You stated it as fact, but I didn't believe for one second that it is. I also take everything Canzano writes with a grain of salt. BNM
Most of what Canzano says in my opinion is to see who he can rile up. I take him about as seriously as I take Skip Bayless.
Does anyone think Canzano is remotely relevant? At his point, does anyone believe a word he says? How/why does he still have a job in this market? BNM
Well yeah, Canzano has been nothing but a shit stirrer for years. That's his shtick. It didn't take him long to alienate all the players and everyone within the organization. So, for years, he's been relying in "anonymous sources" to try to create controversy where none exists. I really am surprised he's still employed in this market. It's been the same lame shit for at least 10 years now. BNM
Ok first NO is a top 3 GM. Next he sucks and needs to be fired. Now Dame shouldn't "interfere" with GM duties (like we know Neil's thought process when making decisions). Dude... Are you a wind sock??? What if that's part of his process to get info from other players?? Assume much?
Call me a wind sock if you must... maybe my anger at Neil is misguided... the point of all my rants tho is that I want some accountability for the miserable failure in the playoffs... so either Neil, Terry, or CJ must go IMO... Neil is just the easiest person to blame. Someone didn’t do their job and I feel it’s unacceptable to that no one loses their job and fans have to accept same product next season
