I am glad I don't have a twitter account....seems like just another way to get in trouble, and I already have enough ways to do that

This has nothing to do with “PR”…. He was answering questions and comments on a live feed. What are you talking about?

@julius you just typed that you are NOT a fan of Dame, but of the team? Wow. To each his/her own I guess.

We can both blame the front office for their mismanagement and dame for trying to railroad the franchise.

Both can be true. It's really not that hard to understand.

Definitely, both are to blame. Past management had lots of blame imo, this one not as much due to being handcuffed by some of Olshey’s mess.

Overall, don’t need to complete bash and hate in Dame. The trade request was justified, the Miami being the only destination is the thing rubbing everyone wrong.

    Blame all around

I don’t pretend to know Dame but many of you evidently know him and his hopes/dreams/fears.

    what stocks should I buy?

You DONT know Dame. You arent his friend and never will be. Take a long look in the mirror and repeat “I don’t know Dame. I am not his friend. I don’t know how he feels. He most likely would not like me if he knew me. “

I only know he wants out and only wants MIA, evidently. I think that sucks for the Blazers organization. That’s all I can possibly know.

But keep telling yourself that because you follow him on SM you are best buds til the end.

Im a fan of every player (cept for Ruben Patterson) who played for the team. I don't remain a fan when they leave, because they don't play for the team I root for.

He’s under contract and he’s basically asking the team to do him a solid and send him somewhere else. He has no rights here. The blazers own his rights for another 3-4 seasons.

But instead of requesting a trade, he is demanding a trade to Miami and actively threatening other teams if they trade for him.

Sorry but this is not behavior that should be respected for commended.

Im not bashing on him as a player. I’m talking about his legacy with this city.

We are talking about being able to retain the love of the fans despite acting like an ass.

Kobe won rings. Dame did not.

Fans are much more forgiving and nostalgic about championship players and championship teams. Hell, we retired half the damn numbers from our won championship.

    You completely missed my point.

And you missed my point entirely and created some weird counter argument where I’m bashing on him because he couldn’t win here.

If Dame doesn’t leave, nobody bashes on him.

If he gives us 3-4 teams instead of 1, very few people would bash on him.

He is forcing his way to one team with a shit offer, so yes people are going to remember him less fondly than they would have otherwise and he doesn’t have a couple rings for people to look back at…… like Kobe if he had left LA for another team.

I can understand not continuing to root for Aaron Affalo or Reef LeFrentz.....but DAME! The best player to ever play for this organization? A TOP 75 player ALLTIME?

I don't think I missed your point. Maybe you missed mine?

Saying "Dame didn't win shit" compared to Kobe ignores the context of management and ownership. Kobe had Shaq, Gasol, Horry, Fisher, Glenn Rice, AC Green, Ron Harper, Horace Grant, Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum, & Ron Artest as teammates and Phil Jackson as coach

Dame had Aldridge & Matthews for a couple of seasons, and CJ for 7 seasons....and Stotts as coach. How many championships would Kobe have propelled the Blazers to if he had Dame's teammates and coach? My prediction is 0, meaning he wouldn't have won shit either
    ******************************************

by the way, I'm not defending Dame's 'Miami-or-bust' stance at all. I have condemned it but I also suspect there's some bad blood at work between Dame and Cronin/Vulcans

Trust me when I tell you that the whole Dame "didn't win any rings here".......we didn't not win anything here BECAUSE of him..... shit, we only ever got into the playoffs BECAUSE of him. That's a pretty lame way to judge a player's impact or greatness. Maybe we could have signed Adam Morrison and JR Rider they have FOUR rings between them.

You’re getting into the minutia of why he didn’t win. None of that matters. I’m talking about the fanbase as a whole. I think they would be way more forgiving if he had brought us 2-3 championships…….. like Kobe.

I will restate my opinion if clearer terms.

I’m not here to debate WHY Dame didn’t win shit. Its irrelevant to the topic. The fact is that he didn’t win.

If someone is going to bring up Kobe and say that the fans in LA were willing to overlook the trade request, and all the other shit with Kobe like driving Shaq out of town and the sexual assault, it’s because he won championships. Fans will always look back fondly on players and teams who win rings.

So when you compare Kobe and Dame, you can’t leave out that Kobe won and Dame did not.

I would take Felton over Ruben Patterson 7 days a week and 300 times on Sunday.

If anyone tries to strong arm something or someone I love, I will not like them. I dont have to know them at that point to not like them, because they are doing something that affects me and that something I love or not love.

ESPECIALLY if they preach about loving that something/someone.
