If Dame really cared about this team and this city, he would already have stretched and cloned himself years ago.
I deliberately stayed away from the board last night since I knew it would be in full meltdown mode. Amazing what a thorough ass-kicking does to bring out the hysteria. It seems to go completely out of people's minds that basketball is a team game. No matter how good Dame is, when the rest of the team can't hit a shot to save their lives, it's really not that difficult to shut down a team's best player. The Blazers had zero front court scoring going last night. Kanter was playing on fumes from fasting and has only one usable arm. Chief and Harkless were in that dark place that they go to once in awhile where they look like they've never played basketball before. One simple roster change last night, say switching Milsap and Aminu, and suddenly Dame's got an effective place to throw the ball to a guy who can score and then suddenly he's got room to operate. I'm assuming that the rest of the team will wake up and play better tomorrow and Dame will look more like himself. If not, this series is over and we can move on to the usual summer discussion of impossible trades.
You got Harkless shooting like crap and aminu might have 2 good offensive games in the whole playoffs and Kanter starting fall off with one good arm. So you basically CJ and Dame your only 2 offensive players on the 1st unit.
Your big man is as soft as pussy. You're LUCKY we have no Nurk. If the Nuggets (worst mascot name on sports) win the series, put an asterisk on it. We're without our 2nd best player. Fuck these nugget TROLLS...
LOL...ive been a Blazer fan longer than you little fanboys with rose colored glasses have been alive, ive seen all the greats and the great blazer teams, this team isnt close to them.. even with Nurk... and if Dame isnt playing like Michael Jordan then they are very mediocre at best
I mean..... most of the people on this board are old... and the team isn't that old. That excuse might work for like the Yankees or Boston or something.
50 years isnt old for a team?... im afraid it is... and who's around anymore to even say they remember watching a team like the old yankees or red sox from the early/mid 20th centruy? lol
Because most of the people on this board are old. So throwing out the "I have been a fan longer than you have been alive" argument won't hold much water on here. Young people don't go on forums like this anymore. Feel free to get into a pissing contest, but that one probably won't be the most effective.
And plenty of people on this board are not old, and havent seen past greatness in the Blazers organization as was the one who i was actually responding too, you seem rather defensive over the age thing, im guessin you're one of those youngins
I knew it. @SlyPokerDog I made the suggestion last week that we needed a thread to verify everyone's age. That way we knew who could threaten violence and who couldn't. Now people are arguing about who's old and who isn't. Clearly this needs to be a thing!!! Step into 2019 Sly.
Everytime I see this thread I think: “New flash” Even good players have to work harder when being guarded by 2-3 good defenders! Dame struggles at times vs the trap and all that but theres very few if any “good” defenders in the NBA who could lock him up 1v1, maybe Kawhi, but Im meeting you more than half way...
