Incorrect. Americans wasted millions of dollars on umproven, useless and sometimes dangerous quack remedies. Still do. I have no problem using legal system. Unfortunately now under brain worm it's being used to get rid of actual science based medicine but that's another discussion.
The legal system is too easy to weaponize, IMO. The medical payment system (which should be Medicare For All) should require only a licensed medical professionals recommendation that a procedure or drug is medically necessary with possibly a second opinion. Doctors should risk losing their license for acting in bad faith or for fraud. And if they do lose their license they should also be exposed to potential legal repercussions as well lawsuits for causing harm.
