"Trade the pick." "We're trying, Dameifer." "Try harder." "We trying to trade for Bam." "Harder." "PG13?" "Harder." "..."
good to hear but obviously, it's something I want to hear it's almost insane that we still have to endure 55 more hours of this endless uninformed bullshit. My hip-waders are eyeball-high right now and I'm starting to need stilts
Go look at Jokic's rookie season. Nobody, thought he'd turn into the player he has. Hell, maybe Shaedon is the next Super Star and Badji is the next Giannis? Dame is a solid businessman and knows that we are accumulating assets and the plan is to get older incrementally. Doesn't mean we can't also have a few young talented prospects. For many people in any profession it comes down to where you want to live, I think Dame chooses to live and raise his kids here.
I am sick of hearing this from Highkin but he's right. Whatever happens will happen when the Blazers are on the clock. The media clearly wants there to be a trade today, yesterday, and the day before. But whatever happens will happen on Thursday. Not today.
I think the assumption is the front office does what it takes… I think Dame’s comments can be translated as: I’m holding you accountable, publicly accountable. Which is reasonable.
Which I think is fair. The Lakers got rid of Westbrook, and went from a disaster, to playoff winner. The Suns trade nothing of true value to the Wizards for a potential big piece of the puzzle. Excuses are for losers. Get it done Joe. I'm not buying that quality isn't available. Or does Portland's real talent & pick assets not carry the same weight as Big Market trade fodder? If that's the case the NBA is a complete sham, and why do we watch in any city other than the usual suspects. I call bullshit. Get deals done.
yeah...my assumption hasn't really changed in weeks: I think Cronin and Schmitz are doing their best to put together a much more competitive team next season; and they are keeping Dame informed of what they are doing, what's on the table, and what various options would cost. They don't plan on allowing some team to steal value and that means they may use the pick to add a rookie with lots of upside. Then try other moves after. When the dust settles Dame will have a decision to make. But he really doesn't want to leave Portland or force a trade. That doesn't mean he eventually won't. But all the supposed urgency that media and posters here see doesn't really exist
Also want to point out how full of shit Haynes is these days. When asked on Stein's pod about Dame's presence at workouts, he simply stated Dame was working out at the PF at the same time and was simply a coincidence. We have an actual quote from one of the Thompson twins about wanting to impress Dame since he is essentially a member of the FO. Dame has been photographed multiple times sitting next to Chauncey and Joe taking in workouts from the front row. To relate that to simply a coincidence of being in the PF at the same time is so disingenuous. I have lost so much respect for this hack this summer. He's trying so hard to be Dame's mouth piece to ride his coattails into clout.
He's usually right but I dont care for him cozying up to players and acting like he knows every in and out about their thoughts. He was an awful writer when he did that, but all he cares about now is engagement on social media but tweeting nonsense.
yeah that seemed bad faith. I'm sure it's just Haynes not wanting to remove any of the pressure that Dame has publicly been putting on the FO.
It sure seems like it's different this time around. Last year he was sitting with Joe and the FO. This year I think the only photo we have is from the Thompson workout and he was sitting by himself. There was no photos of him watching Scoot, although we know he was in the building. There was no mention of him at all when Miller came to town.
uh he and his family took a trip to Paris. People thinking this is cryptic are only looking for it. His mom posted this:
Is it okay nowadays to say that I hate Windhorst and feel that Haynes is barley listenable in his pod? My god both if them are atrocious
Not that I’m calling for a Dame trade but HYPOTHETICALLY what would be the best compensation from Miami or Brooklyn? Best guesses?
