Dame leaving (or staying) is the biggest topic on this team since LMA left. I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised that people would want to share opinions or discuss it a lot.
Yeah this seems much more likely to someday contend than trading 3 for a vet and contending now with Dame. I mean odds are most players won't become Tatum and Brown so yeah more likely this doesn't work. But there are many dozens of cases of teams winning by drafting a couple great guys, vs zero cases of someone like Dame leading a team to a title at his age and his type of game.
Go create them, if it's a worthy topic people will reply, discuss, and the thread will stay active. If not it'll fade to page 2, of 853 pages and be irrelevant.
So one thread about Ant and two mega threads with hundreds of posts most site visitors will never read. I think you proved why threads such as this should be created. Thanks.
This is the OP of one of the threads i linked: Before he's traded by this loser organization and becomes better than Lillard as early as next season while also being a decade younger, in what will be remembered as just one of many boneheaded moves this team has done, I want it to be fully noted that I wanted us to keep Ant and trade Lillard How is that some random post in a non related thread? but like i said. You aren't gonna get it. Peat and repeat go swimming in S2. Peat decided to move on. Who's left? The same handful of people discussing the same thing in many threads, creating new threads and spinning in circle with their opinions that have been repeated more times than my post count….
if I want to post in this stupid thread, I will. and if I want to say this is a stupid thread when I'm posting in this stupid thread, then I'm going to say it's a stupid thread when I'm posting. Maybe I'll say it often for my own entertainment. Knowing it bugs the shit out of you is a bonus. Go freedom! and LOL at "spam"...so opinion is now spam. OK. We're all spammers on this bus by the way...stupid thread!
Just because a bunch of people post in a thread claiming it isn't needed and keeps it on the front page, in no way means the thread topic or thread itself is relevant. But if thats what it takes to validate creating stupid threads, have at it…
So you want to police what people can post because it's similar to other posts you read weeks ago? How about just let people discuss whatever they want, if you don't want to discuss it; then don't.
When a thread topic is created, Im under (likely wrong) assumption there is new valid info being added to the forum. So yes i will enter the thread. At that point i have to read it to know its stupid. i mean common sense. How do you know you don't like the taste if you don't first try it???? Telling people to not enter a thread if they don't like it is the most absurd rebuttal ive heard yet. I think this weeks craziness is cUsing many people to loose their grip on common sense stuff. this thread and some comments in it, are a damned good indicator.
im discussing what i want to discuss. Are you trying to sensor me discussing how stupid it is to have so many threads discussing the same thing?? for fucks sake. Lol. I never said don't post. And if only policing turned the lightbulb on for some….this would be a better place. Carry on with your trade dame circlejerk discussions same the samectbing over and over…. Have at it and be prepared for pushback. If you don't like it. Dont post the same shit over and over. Two can play this stupid game.
I agree there should be a Dame trade thread. It's topical. It's unfortunate that almost every other topic on this board, however, has turned in to that, and that is the source of people's frustration with another place to discuss it. If a tweet comes out today from Chris Haynes saying one thing or another about Dame...where do I go to post it? In thread A discussing Dame? In thread B? In thread C? People say they don't like mega threads because they miss stuff, but you're more likely to miss stuff when there's 8 threads all on one topic. And many others that are started with a thought that could easily just be a post instead of its own thread.
No one wants a site with just a handful of Melo length super threads. The answer is let's have 6 or 7 threads about the same thing in a few days time? You'll miss just as much and read just as much. Though, upon last perusal some of these threads are getting kinda long. If people want to regurgitate Dame being traded over and over and make a Guinness record for the most threads about the same thing then so be it. It's not against the rules. And, hey, everyone is welcome to their opinions here, even you Charles Bronson.
No one should like the idea of trading Dame, but of course there should be a thread since the possibility is rumored to be out there. The argument seems to be that people don't want to read a super thread because it takes too long and they will end up missing things. With multiple threads, not only are you going miss things, but essentially you will be reading the same amount as in a bigger thread, just in multiple increments. That said, not every thread becomes a super Melo thread. Some of these threads are getting some heft to them though, so I guess there is that
