Dame Time (for a trade)…

If you were GM, what would you do:

  1. Trade Dame, start the rebuild around Simons, Sharpe, and #3 Pick (Scoot or Miller)

    17 vote(s)
    54.8%
  2. Trade Simons, #3 Pick, possibly Sharpe to build around 33 year old Dame

    14 vote(s)
    45.2%

which comments? there seems to be a lot of selective memory at work right now

posters such as yourself seem to continuously ignore that the last thing Dame said on this was he expected to be a Blazer when the season started

I know that will give you an avenue to say "see, Dame knows the Blazers are going to make a shitty trade to appease him". But any common sense read of that comment would be Dame knows what the options are, and we've been hearing quite often that the trade options for #3 aren't good enough, and the Blazers are likely keeping that pick.

maybe let all play out before being hysterical about something that might not happen

Pretty sure Dame said if we keep the pick that a conversation will need to be had… we all know what that means.

The poll is not good cause the Blazers have pretty much said Sharpe is off the table and I think would only be on the table if Giannis and maybe Joel came on the market. I think the poll kind of makes fan choose the trade Dame option so I think this is a loaded poll and not fair but just my opinion.

The idea of the poll is to choose a path. If the goal is to win now, all options should be on the table.

He's not going to ask out. Ultimately, it will be the Blazers who decide to restart things and move him when the time is right. They aren't done trying to build around him. Dame believes as do I, that he will still be a Blazer going into next season.

If the goal is to win now and not later, then there is really only one option.

I think the hardest thing about this is we have no idea what is going on we hear things but we have no idea if it's true. I mean we hear a few days ago the Blazers are prepared to back Dame and do what it takes then we hear that maybe not so fast. The whole fan base is in a state of limbo and it's is such a bad feeling that you legit have ZERO idea what the hell is going to happen and whatever happens will greatly shape the future of the team. I am not going to lie you all know where I stand on the Dame thing but this whole situation has kind of fractured the fan base to a degree. I do not blame Dame but I blame Jody since we have no idea what she is even willing to do and does she even want the team to win or just collect that paycheck from PA's estate for having control of the Blazers. This has already been the hardest offseason I can remember in like forever and we are not even at the draft yet and even with whatever they decide it could still be screwed up depending on Jody and I hate it.

We all wondered what would happen if PA sold the team or whatever and in some ways the way Jody has done this is only a step above well maybe 2 but if PA would have sold the team and then the new owner decided to move the team cause then at least we would know SOMETHING right now we know NOTHING and it's crazyville for Blazer fans.

    Here is what it is...

One way or the other change is coming to the Blazers roster. That is uncomfortable, especially with the Blazers given history around trades and free agency. It's hard to trust that those in charge won't fuck it up.

Dame hasn't asked to be traded. He has put some pressure on the Blazers to put veterans around him. He has said it is not his preference to spend more time building around rookies. He hasn't said, if you don't get veterans trade me.

He went online and was asked...if he was traded which teams he would like to go to. He answered Miami and Brooklyn. He did not demand a trade to either team. He then said he anticipates being a Blazer next season in the same online Q and A.

Miami lost out on Beal and are fantasizing about Dame. Too bad for them, the Blazers aren't shopping him. They are looking to trade for vets to put around Dame. Which is scary because we could be giving up future all stars to do it. So, I get it, but I think there is some overreaction. The Sky is not falling. Not, yet anyway.

that poll is completely biased and matches the intent of this thread

I think it's fine if people would actually do a good job of posting thread titles. If it's something topical and it's news, make an appropriate thread title. But often it will be news and then the person makes some weird thread title that doesn't immediately inform people what the topic is.

Wiz you can take this if you want I am tired of trying to talk sense to some people and I just do not think he gets it or wants to get it but that's his opinion and while I do not like it I will try and respect it.

Because the Blazers may do neither, lose out on trades, and just draft? Though, not likely.

Also, people probably aren't happy Sharpe is included in that trade scenario, but I get why he is. If you are putting stars around Dame, you might have to do what you have to do.

I really hope we don't trade Sharpe though.

His statement was not that soft man. Maybe you guys interpret it differently, but if I say that something "isn't my path," I'm not saying it's not a preference. This is what I don't understand... how you guys can read Dame's own words and then soften them up to mean something completely different.

I get that. But, threads aren't always about news...often they are people's trade ideas or thoughts on scenarios. And maybe the first Dame possibly being traded thread was kind of news...but not really because it's just rumor and conjecture.

But, yeah I hear you. Maybe the answer is better thread tags so people know what is actually news and not. But, titling appropriately goes a long way in that too.

There never really was a Dame thread though. There was the thread where MM said that Dame all but demanded a veteran roster. That kinda became the defacto mega thread.

How often should his words be overreacted to? It's obvious he is putting pressure on the Blazers. He said he intends on being here next season. Even is best friend CJ who was bullshitting about him being traded, said Dame isn't going to ask out. Dame is just telling the Blazers the path he would like them to take. And, they are actively working to take it. That's what matters most to Dame. He sees he is being heard.

Everybody shouldn't be running around panicking like chickens with their heads cut off before anything happens.

Dame being traded was brought up there. And, it was followed by several other threads about Dame being traded. Which is all good.

I just want you to correctly quote the man. This is honestly the most boggling thing I have ever seen on this forum in 15 years.

The guy came out and openly talked about how he feels.... twice actually. He was very clear. I don't understand how it's open to interpretation but I guess everything is. I'm not panicking. I'm just incredulous at this point.
