Look I don't get much into the hypotheticals and trade stuff because I know this trade isn't gonna happen but if I was wearing pants right now they'd be tight af.

Probably a hard sell to convince Dame to go there.

How hard would it be to see Dame help the Spurs win a couple more rings?

I am gonna start posting in here and not muck up that main thread anymore. I like this direct trade with Brooklyn right now as my favorite:

I also like this BKN direct haul I will just do thumbnails:

Brooklyn gets Dame AND Simons (oh I love this part)

We get Ben Simmons - he can play point forward as a facilitator, or as the primary ball handler off the bench, or he's just a MASSIVE expiring that might net a 1st in 2025, it's up to him if he wants to try and actually be a player in this league again.

Spencer Dinwiddie (expiring and might net us a first at the deadline)
    Royce O'Neale (expiring)

Noah Clowney 6'10" PF Noah Clowney a one time lottery pick according to many scouts who slipped out of the lottery.

Dariq Whitehead a 6'7" Rookie SF

We also get six first round picks.

    PHX 2025,27, and 29 1sts
    Philadelphia's 2027 1st
    Dallas 2029 1st
    Nets 2029 1st

No reason to trade Ant now...they need his shooting off the bench

I don't see Ant willing to come off the bench, do you?

Dudes like Ant don't start. He's lucky he got to start last year. He's fine as a backup combo guard who can play either guard spot. But he's not a starting point guard or shooting guard.

I think he will...Between bench minutes and small ball, he'll see plenty of action. I sure hope so

I see us trying a three guard lineup at first and then moving Ant to the bench when that proves to be bad on the court. Ant may grouse, he may not. If he does, ship him for a filler SF of some veteran stripe before he sours the team chemistry. If he doesn’t, great! The problem just solved itself.

If it's Brooklyn, I want Claxton and a bunch of picks. I'd take Simmons. I don't care. Try to move Dinwiddie somewhere else.

The only problem is that portland becomes the better team...which I'm okay with. They do need a shooter at the three in my opinion

To you and Bemac, hell if Ant's willing to be a Super 6th man microwave scorer off the bench and in small ball, sure keep him. Here's that trade with a slight adjustment and now I think it's gold. Sure I'd like Claxton, but I would actually like to do a minor solid to Dame and give him a an actual shot in the East with Claxton and Bridges. With the Sixers in turmoil, I can easily see Brooklyn being a top 4 seed with that core. It will easily be the best and most balanced team Dame has been on and they can probably get a Free Agent to boot.

Boston's giving up a lot here, and probably wouldn't do it. People might want us to keep Brown, and I get that, but I also get that he's due a Supermax contract VERY soon and that would cripple us. (This is also a reason why Boston might not be as reluctant to trade him as they otherwise would be.)
(Ignore Nwaba - he's literally because I tried it without him and it didn't work.)

Watching him win a couple rings wouldn't be the worst thing. IMO, I wouldn't be too upset if it was with the Spurs. It's hard to not envy what Pop has done there...and he's (seemingly) done it the right way with the right types of players.
Then, after Dame hypothetically wins a couple rings there, Portland kicks the shit out of them for many years to come behind Scoot & Sharpe.

    I’m hoping for Brooklyn

Claxton and Clowney as the centerpieces
