I agree! What is the date that he has to sign his player option by?

Ugh... just saw a Dame for Westbrook/Avdija and picks trade proposal. I can't imagine anything that would make me quit the Blazers faster than Russell F-ing Westbrook.

The trade makes no sense at all for the Blazers. I'd rather cut him than bring back RW.

Would only make sense if we then traded Westbrook for someone else and more picks and prospects. And then dealt CJ for more picks and prospects and did a complete teardown.

If we trade Dame, it's going to be a complete tear down.

not if Olshey is still GM....he'll want to build the team around CJ....probably

I'd hope, if it came to the nuclear option of having to trade Dame that olshey would have already been fired. It would be a disaster if the Blazers had a boatload of 1st round picks and Olshey got to run the drafts

Maybe that should be a separate thread. "You be the GM: tear down the team to set it up for future success"

I hate when he plays cryptic Dame. He is too smart not to post this picture in LA on purpose. Just look at the comments.

I don't know where his mind is a the moment but I don't like it.

Or do you interpret it differently?

Thinking too much into it Bro. I've been guilty of the same. He was in LA, at a WNBA game, had just hugged LeBron, who he happens to be friends with, always has (since college), and was happy. He's happy too at home when in similar situations. I like to see him happy. Now he's practicing to take names at the Olympics. It's all good. R.E.L.A.X........

I agree there are probably some molehills --> mountains going on right now about things Dame says and does and what that means. He was massively disappointed when the Blazers couldn't beat an injured Denver team. I think that really shook him because just weeks before that he said he believed this Blazer team was different. He needs to keep that disconnect in mind if Olshey does make major changes (unlikely)

that said, Dame obviously decided to stop playing nict and start putting pressure on the Blazer front office to finally do their jobs and build an actual contender. It seems clear that message not only got thru to the front office, but also made it all the way up to Seattle. There is no reason at all why Dame should stop applying pressure now. A new coach isn't going to scheme Portland into better talent. The roster needs an upgrade in not only talent, but fit

He isn't going to LA. I don't care if he asks for a trade. They don't have any assets. If Neil trades Dame to the Lakers I'm going to riot.

I can't see a trade scenario with the Lakers as well. But in todays NBA stars dictate the rythm not GM

Dame can dictate that he wants to be traded, but he is under contract for four more years. I really don't care if he says LA is the only place he will play. If that's the case, he won't be playing. I'd tell him to pound sand.

Lets just get rid of this Dame Trade Post period! Dame has a ton invested in the Blazers. His personal goals include the Blazers. People are putting crap out there that Dame hasn't said. The stuff he has, doesn't indicate a request. He does want change that gets his team better. I look for Neil to do all he can. He said as much in the presser with Chauncey. Time to move on from this trade BS.

You have to admit that there has been a pretty massive shift in terms of Dame's public commitment to the team. Him being cryptic and non-commital is a pretty big change from ride or die Blazer for life.
