I was literally typing the same thing when you posted this. It would be an insane package of young guys on cheap contracts, at that point though CJ and Norm on their deals become expendable imo.

A bunch of unproven dudes to a team that just signed Powell. Yah, that makes sense. NOT! Total nat'l media BS.

I’ll be honest I’ve been in the keep Dame camp but realistically we can’t/won’t do anything to get good enough to be a serious contender. Maybe it is time to cash him in for a 2-3 year head start on a rebuild. If we can get 3-4 guys who will be starters for us in a season or two maybe we should take it.

And then, as soon any of those youngsters actually shows he's actually can play, they go, I'm outta here. Headin' for the limelight. Gahhhhhbiiiiddddgeeeee.

You mean like our current superstar is rumored to be wanting to do because we never got him the help he needed?

Besides, rookies are restricted free agents after their first 4 years if we picked up their options. So at least for their first contract after their rookie scale contract, we can match any deal that we wanted.

Powell on the deal he has is an asset. We should have no problem dealing him.for more young assets if we needed to.

First it was Laker fans with the “if Dame demands a trade to LA, the blazers will have no choice but to take our crap players.” Now it’s Sixer fans.

For the life of me, I fail to grasp how/why Philly fans have any right to be a tenth as arrogant as Laker fans. Fuck them both, but 76ers aren't even in the same class as the Celtics.

Dan Marang has said he's talked to multiple people around the league and they seem to think that Dame will ask out at around the deadline as a courtesy but moved next summer if Olshey does anything.

Also a discussion of whether or not Olshey would like to re-tool around CJ as the franchise player (and not get fired in the process). Sadly I agree with all of this.

Then they shouldn't've let their coach publicly trash him, cuz now Simmons isn't "open" to staying.

huge mistake if you plan on trading him you trade him sooner rather than later. Say he has an injury his value drops. If we truly are considering it I’d trade him no later than this years deadline hes had a lot of wear and tear

I said this before draft I believe he’s got the “it” factor and in the mold of a Chauncey but better scorer. I would love to get him but no way they trade him

A backcourt of CJ and Powell? CJ would be running point.

I'm sure you're right, just because it's a huge cost-savings to have a rookie, and everybody overvalues a guy they've just acquired...
BUT: if they were tired of sucking and wanted to get back to the playoffs RIGHT NOW, this trade would do it for them.

I just can't understand why Neil still has a job. I don't get it.

So are we not doing anything because Dame leaving is a forgone conclusion and we're not going to gut the franchise to try to make him happy?

I could see Neil targeting Brandan Ingram.

    Cj
    Powell
    Ingram
    Covington
    Nurk?

If Dame is out Nurkic will probably ask for a trade also.
