I remember when people said the Lakes didn’t have enough assist to get Anthony Davis and they got him though.
PG for Lillard is straight up laughable. Also, why the fuck would the Blazers do it? PG + CJ = Worse than PG + Kawhi… And certainly not as good as Dame + Kawhi. Uh, no.
Uh, what? They had Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, the #4 pick and their future picks (which they also gave away for AD). Not sure where or who said that, but they’re a moron if they didn’t think the Lakers had enough assets especially when AD could force his way to specific teams. Dame doesn’t have that luxury as he is under team control for multiple years. The current Lakers don’t have anyone close to Ingram, maybe not even Ball, don’t have their future picks until like 2050 and don’t have a top 5 pick. It’s … not even comparable what they have to offer now compared to then. Right now they have THT and Kuzma; which is a hot pile of shit. Now what people were saying is that Boston could’ve outbid them, but chose not to because AD wouldn’t guarantee them he would stay.
Yeah, and they traded away a lot of those assets to get AD, so what assets do they have now? Plus, AD made it known he wanted to be traded and pretty much demanded he go to the Lakers, whereas Dame hasn't done that, and has constantly said he doesn't want to join up on a super team. But hey, it makes for good clicks and everyone knows Portland fans will react to it online.
just thought I'd check the numbers of Dame's progression as a player from 2012 till now: that's pretty impressive considering he was a unanimous ROY and full-time starter in his first season
What's really funny is that I remember creating a thread while LMA was on the team asking if people thought that LMA was holding Dame back. People thought I was nuts. I'm actually glad that diva left because if he had stayed we might not have seen Dame completely blossom.
Wow...Haynes and Dame are buds and CH is Dames spokesman? https://basketball.realgm.com/analy...land-Instead-Of-Sticking-With-The-Obvious-One
As long as that guy with the clown nose on your avatar isn't still in charge. That fool might actually try to build around CJ. If Dame demanded a trade and I was in charge of the team, I'd do this and then auction off Nurk and RoCo for draft picks.
More surprised people don't know this lol. Haynes got his start covering the Blazers for CSNNW the year before we drafted Dame. They built their friendship over those first few years.
Huh?? The Lakers traded the #4 pick in that 2019 draft, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart, as well as 2 future picks and 2 swaps for Davis. Currently they can offer a pick in 2026 and Kuzma. There is NO comparison there.
I don't for a second believe we're trading Damian or that he wants a trade but if we ever came to that crossroads, one thing....no way he gets traded to a Western Conference team. We aren't going to want to face him 4 times a year when we could face him twice a season..Pops traded Kawhi to the east when he wanted out for that reason
I know most in here would laugh or discount what No said pertaining to Chauncey's Pistons being a team that was just a player or so away. I believe Chauncey see's this most clearly it isnt always about multiple superstars making it happen. Look a Phoenix or even Atlanta. If we could strengthen our back court D and get a good size scoring wing along with the continued development of Simons and Little, who knows?
What I loved hearing Chauncey say is that team defense is really really fun and it starts with talking on the court...people are always looking at individuals and their defense but that's not what makes a successful defense...it's staying on a string and anticipating help coverage. Hustle.
