I appreciate Charles. He is the only talking head who is not pushing the narrative that Dame needs to get out of Portland. He actually is praising him for his loyalty.
remember all the chatter from the 'trade-Dame' crowd how it wasn't just the injury last season; Dame was aging out and on the downhill slope, Every season was going to be a little worse for him. look at his marks: FG%: career average .439....career high .463....this season .472 (best) 2ptFG%: career average .493....career high .524....this season .583 (best) 3ptFG%: career average .373....career high .401....this season .381 (3rd best) eFG%: career average .523....career high .563....this season .577 (best) TS%: career average .588....career high .627....this season .654 (best) FT%: career average .895....career high .928....this season .919 (2nd best) FTA: career average 6.4....career high 7.8....this season 9.2 (best) FTM: career average 5.7....career high 7.0....this season 8.5 (best) FT Rate: career average .343....career high .384....this season .477 (best) Points/game: career average 25.1....career high 30.0....this season 32.3 (best) Assists/game: career average 6.7....career high 8.0....this season 7.2 (4th best) Turnovers/game: career average 2.8....career high .3.0....this season 3.2 (worst) Rebounds/game: career average 4.2....career high 4.9....this season 4.3 (5th best) PER: career average 22.5....career high 26.9....this season 27.4 (best) Winshares/48 career average .178....career high .227....this season .234 (best) BPM career average 4.9....career high 7.5....this season 7.5 (tied best) OBPM: career average 5.7....career high 8.3....this season 8.7 (best) FG% at Rim (0-3'): career average .583....career high .631....this season .678 (best) FG% from 3-10': career average .343....career high .452....this season .432 (2nd best) FG% from 10-16': career average .426....career high .449....this season .521 (best) FG% from 16'-3P: career average .442....career high .473....this season .475 (best) the only blemish this year is turnovers. He did have batches of turnovers early in the season but he has improved quite a bit. I suspect he was adjusting to a new role in a new offense. He averaged nearly 4 turnovers/game in October & November; 3.2 in December; and 2.9 (his average) in January/February But he's pretty clearly having by far his best season at 32. Yes, he will eventually start to decline. But the benchmarks he'll be declining from with be elite benchmarks. And the decline might not start for a couple of seasons I really don't care about what justifications people use to advocate trading Dame. I think they are all bogus. For me, the best thing about watching the Blazers is watching Dame perform in a Blazer uniform
What a memorable night. Side note, I'm actually surprised there is even usable footage and highlights of the game.
HA! You know what's funny, only a handful of teams broadcast crews are traveling this season...so last game was a perfect example of Houston's crew being back home taking our show and having their announcers talk over our show. Warriors are another one who is doing this. I think only about 6 or 7 teams are traveling their own guys. It's been a strange season in the world of broadcast.
Wasn't that the Blazers plan originally to not travel the crew and do everything from Portland? Didn't they cave when they received to much pushback from the Fans and your wife? #Bam. Did I do that right???
its so sad to see what dame lillard, once admirable bball player, has become stat padding against dead houston rockets team which also happens to be the worst team in the league
