No kidding. Dame thanked Olshey and not Cronin. Jesus.

Come on man…. He was quick to release the trade request and demand to go to Miami, but deciding to stay and rescind his trade request is a big secret until AFTER he’s traded to the Bucks?

He was told to shut up or get fined. From then on im sure whatever talks happened were in the dark to the public, as evidenced by nothing new circling from anyone else for over a month.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that Lillard's tweet would spell the "trailblazers" as one word verses two like it should be? Maybe my fandom runs too deep, or maybe my career in image branding and continuity is getting the best of me.

No. He would not get fined if he publicly rescinded his trade request. Or said that he tried to rescind it. They were warned not to tamper with other teams.

That bastard Cronin... trading Dame to a team that is loaded so he can "compete" just like he asked. They are now the odds on favorites.

Cronin couldn't have sent him anywhere better in terms of winning.

Yeah, anyone who continues to say that Dame didn't take it personally when Joe chose youth, I have to say you're definitely mistaken.

Well, yep, this sounds like a divorce to me (and we're the kids in this metaphor, I suppose). Clearly there is resentment and hurt feelings on both sides, and it is obvious that both sides haven't demonstrated their best selves at several points throughout this process. Assuming this is a relatively accurate picture painted in the Haynes article (big assumption, we are only hearing one side), I wish Joe could have, at the very least, handled the last month better in terms of his personal interactions with Dame around the Blazers PF and organization. That said, I also believe that the Joe was probably accurate in saying there was no way to come back. After the events of July and August, this relationship was clearly fractured and any return would feel like an ill-fitting bandaid on an expanding wound that would have continued to fester.

While I understand it is human nature to want to find the responsible sources of discontent in these scenarios (who is to blame?!), but I am just not interested in that. Sometimes a relationship has just run its course (and perhaps we even hit that point a couple of years ago). So I will continue to wish Dame the best and cheer him on to win the big one in Milwaukee, and continue to support Cronin and the Blazers administration's efforts to improve the future of the roster. Obviously, both can be true, and we don't need to find the villain... well except, Miami... fuck Miami.

Honestly dont think its Joe. He doesnt have this kinda personality to be such an asshole. He has so effusively praised dame even after the trade demand.

Hell his wife is reposting and liking every Dame related goodbye she can find.

    I think it's Bert Kolde.

He pulls off something good with Jrue and we'll have the most promising young roster since we draft GO and Nico to go with BRoy and LA. He was a pragmatist. I don't love it but sometimes we need someone cut throat to get this team to the best place.

I do think Joe lacks imagination when it comes to solving problems that only have one desired outcome and that could hurt us down the road. I also think he is very prudent and that his aw shucks demeanor is a bit disingenuous but it's a fuckton better than listening to that condescending prick Olshey. Until Joe isn't our GM, I'm hoping he does the best anyone can do. That being said, I knew that he cost us Dame spending his whole career here and I won't forgive him for that,

Yeah but Dame is the parent who trashes the other parent to the kids after the divorce is final. It’s so fucking weak. He got dealt to an amazing situation. He has his best chance ever to win a ring. So fucking lame to put this out.

Well Dame obviously didn't appreciate however Joe handled the situation because his omission was much more glaring than Bert's.

You're just saying the Haynes shit right? Because the IG and X message was beautiful. If it is the truth I don't know why Dame wouldn't say it. We aren't children, they aren't our parents, it doesn't hurt us if we like the GM of our team or not. I don't think it's weak at all. I think Joe's good guy at all times routine might be how he handles everything and is probably genuine almost all of the time but doing that in the face of what was going on either rubbed Dame the wrong way or it was at times an outright obfuscation of who Joe really was being.

No matter how you feel about whether we should’ve gotten rid of dame or not….this is a VERY bad look for the organization
