Yeah, because if there's one thing this board never does, it's latch on to unheralded prospects who we think will be better than the national guessers. If only we had a few-thousand posts thread or two about the draft and prospects and the like...

I love Dame and his loyalty but he's too close to the situation - Terry Stotts has had what, 6 or 7 seasons to get this team going? That's unbelievable job security as a coach in the NBA and he's had his opportunity. We repeatedly give career nights to players on opposing teams without adjustment. Stotts needs to go no question about it. Neil hasn't been perfect but I think he's been pretty good at player acquisition. Damian, CJ, Nurk, Shabazz?

It's a complete farce to say this team doesn't have the talent to compete or the right pieces. Can they be improved? Sure, but if you expect a trade to fix our problems then I have a bridge to sell you. Like Milwaukee, we are under-performing according to our talent. We need a coach who will give discipline to our guards instead of letting them jack up the first shot they see - Aminu too. Run the ball through Nurk please and keep him involved. We know what kind of player he can be if he's involved.

IIRC, I read somewhere that it was "no". Dame went straight to PA...no secretaries, no Stotts or Olshey...in the business we say either "skipping links in the chain of command" or...

    Hello darkness, my old friend
If San Antonio is willing to give up Leonard for Love (they wouldn't, IMO), Cleveland would just trade directly with San Antonio. They need a two-way wing much more than they need another defense-deficient scoring guard. Not to mention Leonard is a far better player than McCollum.

There is not a coach alive who could have taken the exact same rosters that Stotts has had any further in the playoffs. Not saying that there aren't better coaches out there than Stotts but the Blazers have failed to advance in the playoffs straight up because of a lack of talent.

Kidd's available. Dame meets with Allen. Coincidence?

I’d also argue making the playoffs has been an overachievement.

    Two thoughts.

    1. I don't see any trade that could catapult us past the Warriors (or maybe even Houston, Cleveland, SAS, OKC)

    2. In reading between the lines, I guess it's kind of encouraging that Dame thinks there is

He met with PA before Kidd was fired.

How do we know that Lillard just didn't ask PA to be godfather to his soon to be born baby?

Why would Cavs take McCollum instead of Leonard? Not to mention Cavs have better assets outside of Love to offer than we would have - Brooklyn pick, IT, Crowder etc.

And no way Spurs would want Love. He would just get into Aldridge's way.

This thread somehow stimulated this thought: Stotts philosophy seems to be that even though he lets one opposing player go crazy with scoring; if he holds the rest down, then it's OK. How can we test this theory? Are there many game where a guy goes for a career high and the Blazers win? I can't remember any; it seems the team that has the career guy high always beats us.

Just about every night there is some player that goes off in an NBA game and the fans for the losing team complains that they should have been guarded more. See Cousins last night for example.

Blazers could not get Kawhi for Dame and Nurk, actually.

Pleased. It's part of the plan. The market needs to know the Blazers are serious about making a trade right now.

I submit the difference is, Boogie had AD (34/9/5) as a sidekick. Last night, Murray had NOTHING else.
