Fair enough. As I said, I hadn't read enough to know the nuances.

Plenty of judges show distaste for the accused in a case.....I think what stands out to people who have a problem with this one is that she is female and an alpha type judge....if she were male would folks complain? I don't think so...she's retired military too..takes no bs

then again, it's also astounding to me that we can put this guy up for the rest of his natural life with food, clothing, shelter, basic comforts, etc. The judge said "I'm signing your death warrant" (because he's never getting out). But they won't put a bullet in his head for raping hundreds of young girls.

I would only be concerned if her comments gave him an avenue for appealing the length of the sentence.

I fix cars with Laker stickers on them just as well as anyone else's car. I don't punish the car because of the owner.

There are multiple cases where the girls would say something to a coach and the coach would tell Nassar, then Nassar would show up to the girl's house and tell the parents that she was lying about him. The parents would believe him and he would go right back to abusing the girl. When this finally came out 2 years ago one father killed himself over the guilt of believing the doctor over his daughter.

40-175 years. Maybe they'll knock that down to 40-150 years.

And that's after the 60 years he got sentenced in federal court for kiddy porn.

That's just the dumbest fucking thing you've ever posted. I HATE this guy.

I have a problem with cops belittling suspects. Most cops are men.

She was completely in line with her words to the guy in my view....and I could care less if you are making dumb charts about posts you disagree with.

If you go back, I complained when the male judge who gave a woman a felony for spanking her kids overstepped (in my mind) his bounds.
...the male judge who gave a repeated rapist 60 days...
...for those who give 9th-DUI offenders only 4 years...
who gave Water Polo Bro 90 days probation for raping someone because he felt bad for him or something. Judges are supposed to judge, got it. But I don't like Sonja Sotomayor's activism from the bench, because she thinks there's a better way. I don't like when judges allow emotion in their judgements. Again, I get it, and I don't think this judge is a piece of shit or anything (like some of the others), but for every one like this where I agree with what she did there's the opportunity for one I won't like as much, and my hypocrisy goes only so far.

cops? I have a problem with people worried about Larry Nassar's fragile mental state....fuck him.....and I'm glad he got taken down a peg by a strong woman in public.....Nassar is guilty....was guilty and deserved to be put in his place...not even in the same ballpark as a spanking children offense but I'm sure there are thousands of bad judges who abuse power...I don't think this is one of them at all....I give her a standing ovation

I get it, but going back to what someone else posted above, jail isn't supposed to be a holding cell for shitbags who can't be trusted in society. It should be a place for separation from society (if you're temporarily dangerous) or rehabilitation from whatever got you put inside. I don't have a lot of sympathy for serial offenders. I also don't like that, heaven forbid HCP gets arrested for not reporting his S2 earnings to the IRS, he goes to Bubba prison (or OITNB), or whatever, where anything goes because some of the most vile pieces of shit ever to walk the globe have free reign b/c "it's prison, those dudes get what's coming". Eff that. Too many people are alive that shouldn't be, which is a root cause of many people not being alive who should.

I thought this was interesting that came up during his sentencing, apparently the county jail he has been held in during his trial has been using him as a doctor to provide medical care for other inmates. The judge issued an order that this was not to happen anymore. Should the jail be allowed to use someone like this to save money by providing free medical care to inmates, thus saving taxpayers?

Personally I think it's wrong, this man spent his adult life violating his hippocratic oath to do no harm.

    Wow, I didn't know that.
I know it's not the law of the land, but I personally feel that after decades of child abuse and rape (and as you say, violating the Hippocratic Oath) he should be able to make peace with whatever deity or non-deity he chooses and be given a blindfold and a cigarette before the execution. Maybe he has some potential left to give to society. It's too bad he spent so much time digging a hole in society's debt by ruining the lives of others.

I don't know why I respond to your posts or you mine. I don't care about his mental state. I don't even know where you come up with the idea.

If I knew he couldn't harm anyone on purpose I'd make him give free medical care 15 hours a day. Since you can't, they should not use him as a doctor. Cleaning toilets? Sure thing.
