Re: Henderson expects to re-sign with UFC [Link has video]

I'm glad Hendo is staying, but I am not enthusiastic about a Coleman match-up. What Coleman showed against Bonnar is about all he has left - winner by wet blanket. It was smart...but it was also baboon-ass-ugly.

I am also in agreement that Coleman was probably juicing during his Pride days but in the UFC picture we have of Coleman he's at 205 and he was a HW in Pride so thats a drop of probably 20-30 pounds so he should look considerably smaller whereas Hendo has been around the same weight class his whole career.

Also, the fan in me wishes Hendo stays with the UFC but part of me wishes he would go to Strikeforce just to stick it to Dana White...

You can't seriously think Randy, Dan, and Chuck were on roids, right?

Heh, re-read the title they are under.

As well my previous post's comments on Hendo should be obvious what I think about him and the guys I put in his category "while Hendo looks natural, and pretty similar during his entire career."

Re: Hendo to Strikeforce? [update: negotiations are dead]

Dan Henderson "wants an obscene amount of money" so negotiations between him and the UFC are dead for the moment.

Hendo made $250,000 pre-bonuses for knocking out Mike Bisping.

With untold dollars coming his way via sponsorships. But everybody wants more money so you can't blame him--unless his demands lead to a falling out with the UFC.

I can see why he wants more money, as do most UFC fighters, but Hendo needs to realize he is getting paid damn good money and should sign.

I wonder what Strikeforce, with CBS and Showtime backing, can offer him?

Re: Hendo to Strikeforce? [update: UFC negotiations are dead]

I don't think Strikeforce can offer Hendo much more than what UFC was offering. The only advantage SF has in negotiations would be the network deal and maybe that giving Hendo some extra exposure. I think I've said this before but Hendo doesn't strike me as a guy that cares about getting more exposure, he's at a point in his career where he just wants to get paid and fight in good fights.

Even if SF can offer Hendo what he wants, I don't know how good of a strategy that would be, what kind of compelling fights can they make with him that would grow their brand?

Re: Dan Henderson wanted $1,000,000+ signing bonus

The latest on this ongoing Dan Henderson signing saga is that as part of his desired contract (one that would put him among the highest paid fighters in the world), he is asking for a seven-figure signing bonus. Neither side has shown signs of budging.

Henderson is now reportedly considering Strikeforce after dismissing the idea last week. Strikeforce has not made an offer as of yet and there is no word on whether they will.

well Hendo hasn't come out to deny this claim so I am gonna assume its true for now. That being said, WOW!! Hendo wanting to be the highest paid guy on the roster? not gonna happen, the guy isn't nearly popular enough to earn that kind of money.

    Hendo is crazy.

His record and his opponent list warrants the money, but his popularity does not.
