<div class="quote_poster">GameFace Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I honestly find him to be disgustingly overrated and complete trash...........that's just me.......Employee of the Month was a good movie. Mencia >>>> Cook Yah I said it!</div> I hope you're fucking kidding with that last part. Mencia is easily the worst comic ever to become famous, he wasn't that bad back in the 90's but he just keeps saying the same **** over and over and over and over. All he does is say something that isn't very racy or out of the ordinary (especially not for a standup comedian) but he spends more time talking about how hes so edgy and how hes the only person who says stuff like that when hes not very edgy at all and not funny to boot. Plus he steals jokes from George Lopez and Ron White. To be honest, I liked the first season of Mind of Mencia even though it clearly looked like a Mexican (hes not Mexican either) version of Chappelle's Show, but after that he does the same stuff with standup where he keeps doing the same **** over and over. Back on topic; I do enjoy Dane Cook quite alot, I think most of the people who hate him (that I know at least) are people who have barely heard him but are highly annoyed with his fans who repeat the jokes shittily and laugh like retards. Retaliation was hilarious for anyone who hasn't heard it and he was great on the Insomniac Tour (RENT THIS MOVIE IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT, its got great standup, fucking hilarious)
His material is one time funny. I like him, or rather liked him but not anymore. His two CD's and his new DVD are pretty much all the same. It's the same minuscule stuff, he just screams, yells, and prances around the stage a lot to give viewers that added emphasis into thinking he's a really great comic. He's got some nice jokes, but he makes them work because he's so loud. He couldn't tell them straight up, sitting in a chair. Bill Hicks & Mitch Hedberg FTW!
I don't like him.. I can't laugh at anything by him. Employee of the Month sucked. I just stick to this: Invalid Video Link

For example, I remember he joked about a guy running from the cops, and then throwing his penis at him. Come on, are you serious? That's just plain stupid.
That's actually the worst part of that act. There were way funnier parts. That MadTV skit had him down perfectly.
<div class="quote_poster">Swish15 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I knew that would end up on here. </div> It wasnt meant as an inuslt towards him, I like Dane Cook, I just thought it was funny.
<div class="quote_poster">Carter Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I haven't really seen this guy yet. Is he better than Chapple?</div> Watch the clips and be the judge. In my opinion Cook is better. I used to be a huge fan of Chapelle, but as time passed i got bored of him. I still enjoy some of his jokes but not as much.
I myself am a huge Dane Cook fan. I watched his standup special on HBO a bout a month or so back and I hadn't laughed that hard since listening to Dave Attell for the first time. By the way, Attell is funny as hell. Extremely vulgar and offensive, but funny.
nothing like a good grilled cheese...cook has been funny from day one..the funny thing is he's like 37 years old from what i hear..he is a great comedian and his material is flawless...although i dont think he is the best ever..eddie murphy, george carlin and mitch hedberg i favor a little more
He's not horrible, but he's pretty mediocre. Definitely not worth the tremendous hype that he commands. His act his more about the delivery than the material. All his jokes are simple observations, peppered with too many similes. He makes up for it with "attitude." They elicit a chuckle from me, but nowhere near what his audience gives. I personally prefer George Carlin, Richard Pryor, or Mitch Hedberg.
Harmful is swallowed was funny....after that he just sucks.... Kool aid and the Q are his best skits....
<div class="quote_poster">GameFace Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">In the two videos you posted he said "sweating like shaq at the foul line" twice so he pretty much uses the same jokes as well...</div> Its called a routine.....do you expect him to tell different jokes all the time he steps on stage? He'd have to write a new act every other day....
I did like Harmful if Swallowed, but after that, he sold out to me. He's doing stupid movies (Employee of the Month) and I wasn't a fan of Retaliation...except for the skit where he talks about the blowjob.
